After Interview process

I had an interview on Sunday but received the congratulations letter stating to log on to Onboarding Portal.  Will I receive a phone call or email for my drug test or anything.  I was advised after the interview that they had to do a background check, what is the next step before I can start working?

for me, they had me do an interview with the hiring lady, which consisted of basic questions like "why is this job for you?" yadda yadda. then they sent me on my merry way and told me they would call me back for a 2nd interview. the second interview was a bit more rigorous. a bit more questions like the first interview, they did the drug test to me on the spot (mouth swab), and gave me my uniform and orientation location.

Not sure what state you are from or if the Kroger you applied to is a big or small one or not. But I know when I went into "interview". I think that I got kind of lucky. Because for me, our old store was closing down and they were building up a new market place, that I applied to. So after I did the quickest "interview" ever which consisted of being explained how they needed evening peeps(which I'm glad they didn't stick to that as evenings can be rather stressful in my store in the bakery), and if I had any special days I needed off. After saying no to all of that, I had to sign all the paper work, and did the drug test and so forth. I was told, that I would be contacted when orientation was.

Which actually happened like a few days later on the weekend via the phone. And fingers crossed your orientation goes well enough that you get all your proper information. I know for me, mine did. And I was put into the time clock and got my EUID. But most other peeps hired before me never got their EUID (or so they say)so they can't use their RF guns.

So definitely make 100% sure you have everything. And make sure to take some paper or a notebook with you to write that EUID down! It's important. As you can't do a good majority of your job without it! And folks tend to get annoyed enough times if you keep asking them to log-in under their's.

Oh and also not sure what dept. you applied for. But definitely make sure if you have a good trainer or other folks that are really good with the daily duties. Ask tons of questions and take plenty of notes!
