Things that irked me when I was a bagger.

Here in my division in Tennessee we recently got rid of Senior day, here are things I found annoying and I would like to see what other little things bother other associates.

People parking the electric mart carts in the cart carriage or just leaving it in the middle of a parking spot.

People that come in and just as you are about to bag an order they throw some of their own bags right at you like it is your fault.

Every senior day I would hear "please put my cold stuff together please" (like I never do this).

Q: Where are all the "Lil Uns"? (small shopping carts) A: they are all in use because this is senior day and everyone wants a "Lil Un".

I know people have to bring their children in the store but whenever an off duty associate brings in a baby - there goes productivity and assistance from the customer service managers for about 20 minutes.

I didn't mind cleaning up spills but I would put down 3 or 4 of the hazard flags and people would just walk right through it.

The lack of respect (both associate and customer) had for those cleaning or just for property in general. I closed and flagged off the break room to let the floor dry and people just went in and made themselves at home or intentionally stalled at their locker.

Almost getting hit every time I went out to do parking lot duty.

When I was a bagger:

1. When doing sweeps your are technically supposed to be unavailable for at least an hour. (If you have 2 hours of sweeps.) now they call you off sweeps to bag or get something and Hell will reign upon you if you are foolish enough to continue THEN go up front.

2. Being called off break (NEVER, EVER came off, but I was called constantly. It's a wonder I'm still alive with all the death stares I got when I returned from break)

3. Being 'The Go-Back King.' For STUPIDLY getting 4 overflowing, product spilling out if you so much as looked at it' carts of go backs done. ALL BY MYSELF. When I said I didn't like being "King" and want to delegate some of the go-backs to others, management "heared" "I wish to resign." What they also said was "Wal-Mart is hiring. In case you wanted to go there... We're (not) cutting hours waaaay back."

I find the people who bring their own bags are a major PITA in my store-when they aren't looking I will sneak an empty plastic bag and put it in the bottom of one of the bags that they bring. I find the "save the planet' people so annoying.

We do and every time I had to go hunt down the cleaning cart or anything I would have to run the gauntlet of people needing help at the meat counter.

We got to the point where management would have us "clock the store sweep" and set a timer for 45 minutes and then clock out the sweep when the timer ran out. We then had to sweep up produce a lot of times because of lack of people everywhere.

Back when I was still a bagger I hated customers who wanted me to fill their reusable or paper bags as much as possible while keeping them light. Like what?

And then those customers who will request light paper bags, but because the bag is full (despite being full of strictly lightweight stuff) they have deemd the bag too heavy based only on look.

Big cart, small cart, small cart, big cart, big cart, small cart.

When people would get 2 normal carts stuck in the little kid car carts.

People who don't know how to park/use only one space.

Those people that would leave carts in the middle of a parking spot and let them go wherever. My lot used to be on a hill down towards the store so every now and then i'd see a cart rolling down the hill or in a person's headlight/taillight.
