Once again I got to work the last 5 hours of the day and get stuck with a mess. Garbage hadn't been taken out all day, dishes and spoons hadn't been done, not enough rotesserie cooked, no fish sandwiches made, sides hadn't been freshened, and salad and meat case wasn't full. Not one person from first shift could walk their butts to the back to get whole chickens or anything else we needed. If they can suspend someone for not doing the temp log, they can suspend someone who has worked there for more than 10 years for not doing their job, at all. I don't care how long you've worked there, if you can't do your job anymore, then you shouldn't be working there.

They didn't I was told they do it on purpose cause they know second shift is coming in and have to do what they didn't. DH was also working that day. Which means they didn't care about the job being done right, either That's pure laziness and lack of respect for other employees, in my eyes.

I would return the favor. But unfortunately Kroger will not see it that way. But what I would do if I could, is leave part of the mess for them and a note saying "first shift says they will empty trash." Or "First shift will organize cold box." When first shift complains, someone could say "we knew first shift could handle it no problem."
But sadly that will not work. Not only will first shift have a baby fit, management will come down. Hard.

No truer words have been spoken! Hell you even barely try and leave a note about not getting the trash out in my store and leave it to the morning crew to do it?! Oh hell's no. You get even more flack for it and written notes from our DH about it. Cause most of the baker chicks in the early morning hours are his version of Charlie's Angels or just up his butt. As they witch all the time about what wasn't done by night shift. And he eats it up and he relays other messages through other people to us about doing X, Y, and Z. It truly burns me up. Cause I wish there was a night back up manager or whatever on each night. So they can see what is going on for themselves. As I'm beyond annoyed, that they think we are just slacking off(some are), but that is not the case.
