Job Bids

Where do you put in for job bids? Is there paper work to fill out with HR? Or is everything online? Also is a job bid similar to a job transfer?

Also, how experienced do you have to be, in order to be considered seriously for a new position at another store?

Go to your HR person. fill out the form and submit it.  Yes and no.  Depending on your contract, Job bids are for new stores only (some remodels count).  The employees at the store that is being replaced by the new one (or the ones that already worked inside of a remodeled store) always get first picks when it comes to non managerial positions.

Depending on the volume of the new store (Marketplaces especially) if you do not have an actual previous record of running a department(s), nor have you completed the qualified assistant training program, then you have a slim to 0 chance of getting a managerial role for a posted bid.

What state are you in?

Here, they post bids in the break room.  Yours might be posted elsewhere near the break room.

Our newest contract gives employees already in the store first chance to sign bids for positions available in store.  If no qualified applicants, then the bids are posted thru out district.

Sometimes, you have to sign bids for other stores(transfer) to get full time.
