Yes, I am. I don't mind as long as all the departments are doing them. Including front end.
I had a conference call with night managers in my district and the district grocery coordinator. He specifically said, "They are not intended for measuring performance." They are a guide to help us be productive and stay in stock. I sort of believe that but still wonder if that is the truth. I have my own system to keep track and my numbers are close to the ddp that we have been using. The new paperwork gives me about 15+ more hours to do the stocking compared to the old ddp. It isn't easy being accurate with the sheets they have me filling out but I try to be as accurate as I can.
It counts the pieces from blue totes and we don't run totes. They have been tweeking the program to take totes and Nutrition out of the count by individual stores. We run Nutrition and I do not think it accurately counts Nutrition or KMP cases. I would love to see where and how the program is getting its case count.
The time we are keeping track of is only for the hours spent stocking. The time does not include conditioning, sorting, clean-up, unloading trucks, running backstock, fast alerts, or ordering. Only stocking. I have some people that spot and condition as they stock so I have to guess at the time they spend stocking. I like to run backstock in 2 of the same aisles, order, and then run stock for one aisle. Then, I condition. I know how much time I spend stocking.
The store managers input our numbers to report back to corporate managers. The numbers are being used in my district to reward night crews in a fuel point contest I think.
Only night have to do them at my store ... no one else and try to reward you with a tee shirt and 1000 fuel points WoW a whole 10 dollars.
why not make the day crew do them where they really need it.
I agree completely.
I am getting annoyed with having to do replenishment almost every other day on top of my work on nights. Some days I do not have time and ignore it. When I know we are having visitors in the morning, I make time even if it is OT.
