The first number, the number of lanes open, I can understand. That's the number of cashiers signed on to the registers. The rest of the numbers, I don't understand. Like, how do they show how many customers are in the store or will be waiting in line?

Left # = Lanes Signed On
Middle # = Action Now (lanes called for to provide 1+1 service)
Right # = Predicted # of Lanes needed in 30 mins

Small Lower Middle # = Time out of Compliance with Action Now #
Blinking Green Spot = Heart Beat (System is Active)

So, the "Action Now" number, is that the number of inactive registers with signed on cashiers that need to start taking in customers? I've seen this number be higher than zero when all registers (well, the ones that had cashiers on them) were being used and had customers being checked out.

"Action Now" is the number of registers that *need* to be open.

For example, if 5 registers are open, but one or more of the current lines is getting backed up, the "Action Now" middle yellow ball will say "6", as it is demanding that one extra register be open leading to 6.

I say "demand" because if the active registers ("registers open" far left yellow ball) is a lower number than "Action Now" that is not good at all, especially if you're the supervisor or FEM.

Ahhhh, now I get it. So I assume the third ball is the same as "Action Now" except it's what will be needed 30 minutes from now.

Right, except "30 minutes from now" is a projection and not always accurate.

In many cases it is though.
