we're nearing the end of 2017 which means that we all have endured another year working for these schmucks! how are your stores doing money wise/managerial wise/employee wise/etc?

my store's grocery back room has been a disaster for weeks and i don't see it getting better. the trucks are packed and there's almost no room for receiving unless you move around a whole bunch of pallets. this is due to our store manager editing our grocery manager's order without consent.

our manager is about to leave after screwing up many things up. the amount of back stock and unworked product sitting in the store is an abomination, and it's all due to her "gotta have the store stocked to the brim" policy. we are losing substantial amounts of money because of this, and many of our long time department heads stepped down or outright quit. needless to say, i will not miss her once she leaves, nor will anyone at my store.

our new floor cleaning crew is terrible. by the end of the night the floor is still filthy despite one man running the floor scrubber all night. they like to pick our back stock off the floor and put it on the shelf so they can clean the floor underneath it, which is extremely annoying. not to mention, their boss is one rude mf'er.

our pallet jacks and carts are still mainly in disrepair and there are no signs of them being fixed or replaced. one of our good manual jacks had the wheel bearings completely fall out, so the wheel grinds on the axle making moving pallets impossible. the only hope is to have someone push heavy pallets as you pull, or grab the power jack (which is a tall order since there are only 2 and our bosses like to hog them all night)

i could think of more, but i'd be here all day! no so tell me my kroger brothers and sisters, what is the state of your kroger store?

I think all stores are like that! Fill the shelves, but perform OE procedures! Product everywhere, but yet the items you need are out of stock. Solution to all of these issues, stress out the Department Head to the point of stepping down and then not allow any excuses! (Staffing, Call Offs, Following Company Programs....Excuses)

We continue to run after OSAT, but yet don't actually RUN OUR STORES! We follow the program, which causes us to be everywhere @ all times and then not accomplishing anything.

Oh yeah, all stores are falling apart like this. The store I just got moved to is one of the worst in our district for out of stocks. Gee I wonder why when the whole store can't get anyone hired at all??

Same here, on our 3rd Groc. Lead so far this year, dunno how they're going to survive the holidays.  Management here at least recognizes the problem and is trying to address it.... of course they address it by taking people from other departments and have them stock grocery which of course leaves other departments shorthanded and doesn't do a damm thing in the long run.

Empty shelves, unorganized backroom, customers mad that were always out of stuff etc. etc., at this point it's like living in some kind of dark comedy and all I can do is laugh.

. . . living in some kind of dark comedy, and all I can do is laugh.

Probably one of the best choices--laughter--if/when you can get there.  Depression and rage seem to offer themselves up often.

I would offer you a couple of our half broken pallet jacks.  They roll and lift but the lever for dropping doesn't work on half the jacks.  You have to use the foot release.  We have about 30 manual jacks.  No, I am not exaggerating.  Ok, maybe between 20 and 30.

Keep asking a store manager to order pallet jacks.  Keep asking until they give in.  Maybe ask a manager to help you move a pallet with the one with a bad wheel.  Let them put in the most effort to move it.

The replacement wheel is about $80 in parts.  It takes a torch to get the old wheel off.  The maintenance guys won't fix them.

Compared to your store, mine is running perfectly.  Except, we are not ready for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

It had to take one of the night crew clerk getting her toe sliced from a pallet jack rolling over her foot and a visit from osha in order for us to get all new pallet jackets and for them to fox the electric one.

And this at a company claiming "Safety" as one of its six core values.

Oh, and "Integrity": "We act in accordance with our values, even when it's difficult."

Well I have a 20 something store manager who is an ass and an idiot, so that's fun. I think my co workers are a little nicer, I hope management will force out some of the older workers not including me.

Empty shelves, record low morale among employees, and the store is basically being held up by lifers with old contracts.  Everyone who isn't desperately trying to get out is either a child, retarded, or a potential Walmart employee.

As the lifers slowly leave, the store runs less and less well.

Personally, I alternate between despair and rage.  If I thought management was more competent, I would think they were sabotaging my education on purpose.

Amazon is slacking off.  I wish they'd put us out of business already.

dang, i'd be in heaven with that many jacks. we have probably 5 or 6 (tiny store!) given the parts i could probably fix them myself, but i'll be in the cold cold ground before i do any extra favors for kroger

As someone who worked Amazon Fulfillment before coming to Kroger, I desperately hope they don't. As much as Kroger is rife with issues from the top down, it is nothing compared to the hell that is Amazon.
