How do you start a forum?

I want to start one of these forums. I want one that for support. All I ever see on here is negative remarks. No one can say anything nice, positive or supportive. We are all employees of of Kroger Ralph's etc.. Where ever you go you're going to have to deal with something you don't like. So why not have somewhere you can go to get off your chest what's wrong and have people actually support you. People actually bring some positive feed back to you instead of belittling you because you said what was on your mind!!!

Totally understand where your coming from, but you must be in one of the "golden stores". I'm not trying to be negative, but when associates from MANY stores are saying the same things about the company and no ones listening? SOON, Kroger stock will be under $20.00 yet we are not doing anything to actually change anything. Associates continue to leave the company in droves, yet we change nothing. Associates try to express their feelings to their supervisors, they are told "we cant change anything". We have new programs in improve "Out of Stock" that actually doubles the # of out of stocks, yet we don't revert back to the previous program. Many stores don't have successor planning because people have been stepping down so fast, one cant even plan because its happening so fast. I ask you a GREAT Question, who's the next CEO? VP (CORP), because if you look at current leadership most are hitting retirement age or wouldn't be able to deal with running a corporate structure along with Wall Street demands.

If you listen to most people, while sales are still strong 110 Billions your always expected to do more and more and that's the only thing the company has still going for itself.

Well, I have read this forum for nearly 4 years and I've seen quite a few threads that DO include positive comments...but you might have to wade through lots of others to see the positive.....oftentimes I have read of helpful info being offered by other employees trying to help their coworkers............brief tutorials on using the Rf scanner, posts about the ring tender, advice on dealing with rude customers, how to get along with your managers, proper procedure in calling off because of sickness, lots of other things that I feel are more positive than negative.

But, after all, I think most of the employees that post on this forum believe in HONESTY, and to be honest you have go be candid about the problems at Kroger, which are many.

btw, there are some threads that are "hijacked" by trolls (probably some people who have never even worked for Kroger and are just having some "harmless fun") although I haven't seen many of those kinds of posts in the last few months.

Do you ever go on Yammer or Yodel?  Those are supposed to be "Positive' sites.

If you were to start another forum, how would you be able to steer the conversation in a positive manner most of the time?  Sometimes it's hard when employees have had a rough day at work, and just need to do some serious venting!!

I've found a lot of helpful info on this forum. You have to wade through the grumpy posts, but generally people try to be helpful. However if you'd like to start another forum, just scroll to the bottom of the page & click the "create your own free forum" link.

Admin hasn't been around for a number of years and I don't ever remove anything except spam and personal information. Sometimes I'll clean up double posts or whatever, but my moderation still is very light and hands off.

The majority of the time people around here will do their best to help you out if you make a thread asking for it. If you make a guide and want it pinned to the top send me a PM with the link and i'll look at it.....

We don't really sugar coat anything around here, as you've probably seen. Easier than talking to your boss and a lot of us have a very indepth knowledge of how Kroger is/was run. :)

Actually, I'm definitely not at a Golden Store. I work with a bunch of negative people. I have posted on here several times in the last year. I've posted some pretty negative things about the store. I have no problem with people complaining about their work or the people they work with. The problem I have is how when you post on here to vent or relieve stress, others bash you for it. We all work for a company that has messed up managers, with a Union that is messed up in it's self. We work with people who hate us and people who love us. I was hoping this was going to be a site where I could let it out, ask questions and get support. Instead, I ran into a site that belittles everything people say. This tells me there are a lot of people who hate themselves and needs someone or somewhere to go, so that they can get some positive feed back. Even if that feed back says "Hey, I understand where you're coming from. I'm in almost same boat." Not saying things like "You sound like a bitch or an ass", "I think it's time for you to quit. , "Grow up", etc. Give some real advice! 'In order to deal with the negative, you have to be positive'

Instead of developing leaders, the company is creating cripples, scaredy cats who know only that they should fear the folks above them.  Critical thinking, intelligence, and reason are not valued.

Management should change the six core values to only "Hierarchy" since that is all they effectively know.

If you want a more moderated forum where only positive vibes are expressed then you have my blessing.

I think Win7User tried creating a forum a while ago. Wonder what happened with that.

Yes, but there you can't talk about the problems you are having with Kroger. It is a place to say good things about the company and management and what a wonderful place it is. You can't vent on there.
