when did the union let Kroger get rid of full time status one. I am in the cincinnati/Dayton region and just learned that in the first of the new year 2018 full time status one is gone for good. I cannot believe the union would let this happen. People will only get full time status three now. I will be so glad that next year is my last year to work. I will go out with 32 years. I hope Kroger does not get rid of my pension. We need unions but I am beginning to wonder about my union and the ways they are doings.
I'm sure those who already have status one will be grandfathered and keep it. It's just that no one else will be able to get it. I'm glad that I got status one a few years ago(2011).
Status 1 = Full Family Benefits, 3rd night OT
Status 3 = Single person Benefits, status 3 isn't guaranteed any hours but you do have the ability to bump for up to 40 hours a week.
Status 4 = Part Time, Benefits after 2 years and working 20 hours a week. Ability to bump other Status 4's FULL Week Schedules.
Status 1 people retain their status, January 2018 500 more people gain the status, then Status 1 isn't able to be gain by any other associates.

This is what Kroger has been working towards, only providing part time positions
Kroger used to be a good company to work for but in the last twelve or thirteen years Kroger has went down so much because of new idiots coming into corporate. I remember the other Kroger before they retired and it was so much better. You never had to worry about your hours, insurance, pension, etc.
We've never had this status thing in the Louisville division. If you're full time, you're full time. Everyone is guaranteed 40 hours. It's not some people are guaranteed 36 hours or some people are guaranteed 32 hours. Also, you get the same insurance and seniority is strictly based on the date you became full time. The only difference is what contract you're under. The old timers get better premiums such as getting paid time and a half for all hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM if you work more than two nights in a week in that time frame.
