I thought that Christmas Day is the one and ONLY day that EVERY KROGER in the country is closed. Am I wrong???? But I suppose the convenience stores owned by Kroger will still be open, right??
Most Kroger stores are closed on Christmas Day for 1 reason and 1 reason only. Most union contracts have a clause in them that says anyone that works past 7pm on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day, get paid DOUBLE their normal pay rate. Food for thought, if you have ever wondered why your store closes early on Christmas Eve. The only reason Kroger closes is because they don't want to pay extra. If that clause wasn't there, corporate would have us all there.

This is true for Cincinnati/Dayton. We close at 6pm and they close and get us out of there in a hurry!!
That reason why they close doesnt surprise me at all, Being as here at my store (DFW texas) they fought the union like hell when they said employees wanted 9.50 starting pay instead of 7.75 and it took forever and they held out until the union threatened a strike, and then they caved ... jackasses.
