What are some things that annoy you about your job here at Kroger? Things that you deal with on an almost daily basis.

I work in produce and probably the most annoying thing is when people stare and pick at the bananas as if they are shopping for a new car, just grab one and go. Of course there's people that has to find the greenest one or the ripest one, one that has 6 or 7 so they can eat one each day, and one that rips one banana from each bunch just to have the perfect one.

hahaha. Yeah, I'm guilty of that. When I'm looking to buy my mangoes, there are some that I'd want to eat right away. So I hope to find a ripe one that I can eat on that same day. I try not to spend more than a minute, though. Dunno how long others spend picking.

Lazy coworkers, male coworkers staring right at me everytime I turn around, extreme couponers and SCO machines malfunctioning.

Oh boy. Here's the short list:

1.) The same no life losers who come in every day--sometimes multiple times a day.

2.) People dropping off 'I changed my mind' items just where ever. --Especially bad with perishables.

3.) The jackasses who'll leave a full cart unattended for an hour, blocking an aisle, u think they're gone---but soon's you take it for go backs, HERE THEY COME RUNNING

4.) "Excuse me please, do you have any more ____" "Sorry, we're all out." "YES YOU DO. YOU KEEP ALL THE GOOD STUFF IN THE BACK." (real conversation)

5.) You're pulling a heavy-azz pallet along and a customer literally steps right in front of you to ask something bleh

Management at store level deciding who should be held accountable to the stores attendance policy and following through with the progressive discipline steps.

The fact that my store is a social event, where work is put second to fraternizing and brown nosing.

People above store level who tell me how to do my job, yet have never even set foot in my department.

Working while others stand around and do nothing. I'll be doing mark downs and have to stop in the middle of doing it to serve a customer because the others are too busy talking. This actually happened while a manager was wanting to be served. The manager did nothing and said nothing about it. The lazy ones get rewarded while the hard workers get nothing. It's ridiculous and very annoying!!!

I also get annoyed by the fact that if your black you get away with anything, because Kroger doesn't want them to use the race card. When actually the white ones could use the race card because they have to work their asses because they aren't black.

This, all the time. I can have a whole skid of frozen bakery items, going across the store, and people think it's smart to run right in front of me. And then they act as if you're in their way.

1. LAZY ASS co-workers that call for EVERY. SINGLE. THING. I mean they cannot (WILL NOT) bag ANYTHING!!
2. Stank customers that insist on invading your personal space then get HIGHLY OFFENDED when you spray air freshener when they leave the area
3. No call, no shows and then management gets mad at you for not covering their shift
4. Having people knock on your car window when you are on break or lunch then get pissed that you ignore them. They go and cry to management and they walk away with a $5.00 gift card and you walk in to sign a SIR. (had it happen to me. I have about 3-4 unsigned ones from a year ago. I put them in the shredder.)

Customers who don't understand conveyor belts and get in my face at the front of the belt.

Don't place items on top of my hands as I'm trying to scan.  Don't place items on top of the item I am picking up.  Don't place items between my hands and the scanner.  Don't rush to dump items into the space I just cleared.

The belt is longer than one foot.  ****ing stop it.

Do you work at my store?!? T H I S. The ass-kissing and fraternizing that leads to some serious favoritism and cliques, which inevitably leads to the singling out of employees for things that everyone does which puts the blame for **** down on said people and thus they are put down and never allowed to do their jobs the way they know works, and instead are forced into a never ending battle of whos ass am I supposed to kiss today so I dont get written up or yelled at or talked to in the offices for an hour, but that means I cant finish my work... but thats what they want, so that they can properly make it look like we dont do our jobs!! So district management thinks were lazy! So they have something to use against me to keep me from transferring!

Daily, yall. DAILY. My store is a ****in joke.

Outside if that rant there, Id say daily monotony. Same motions, same sore backs and knees, same dry skin, same cases, same products. Broken things left on shelves and the ground. Stolen product in the same camera-less aisles. Same cardboard to bale, same trash to pick up,  same guys complaining about tiredness, same tiredness, same guys leaving the same departments for someone else to pick up. Same people in at 3 am. Same hey how are you, Fine, how are you, fine. Same customers. Same management bitching about the same things, asking the same questions with the same answers.

I need a change, I think. Haha

You ever have a checker leave his/her checks and to go outside and yell for a bagger so he/she doesnt have to bag a SMALL order.

Happens all the time at my store. And the checker wonders why no one will bag for him.

Department head for our deli/bakery that apparently forgets that the bakery department even exists. I call us the island of misfit toys. I am one of her backups and I work strictly bakery, we receive no help from her whatsoever and she doesn't even check on my department on my days off. She has a back up in deli and apparently they need to work the same shift and stand around talking most of their shift or going into our office area and sitting on their asses for an hour or two every day. The bakery could be on fire and she wouldn't care. The only time we see her is if we are having a waste integration walk through. Then she walks through my department talking to the coordinator acting like she knows everything there is to know about the bakery.  There are always 5 people in our deli area by 6 am and only two in our bakery until 1 most days and we struggle to get done.

My favorite though is when one of them is using the handheld to do markdowns and the other one stands there taking the markdown stickers as the print and put them on the product. Workers in the deli never get help from them and you can't find them 90% of the time.
