So I've been with kroger for far too long, let's just say I've been at kroger long enough to get 3 weeks of vacation. I'm currently finishing up my BS in CS and decided I was going to put my 2 weeks in after my vacation (classes started so not really a vacation ha) which I'm currently on. I told my produce manager about this, hes a great guy or is he? One of the reasons was they were only giving me 12 hours a week anyway so I go to check my schedule for next week and I asked for next friday off which was approved but I don't have any scheduled shifts apparently. So do I need to even bother submitting a 2 weeks notice, seems they already handled that on their end without even a good bye see ya later.  I don't mind actually, I would rather leave silently. They will pay me for my remaining holiday pay and vacation correct?

Good bye kroger so glad to be gone, there are some great people there still but damn did i hate the job, was kinda embarrassing still being there for so long, finally getting my **** together. See ya

Good for you! I'm on here routinely encouraging people to get out of retail/service industry in general if you A) truly hate it and B) if you're able to do so.

Bettering yourself is n e v e r a bad thing, no matter what negative noise you'll hear to the contrary.

Best of luck biggrin

You left out your usual C and D, where you tell us that if you're over 25 and working retail, then you're mentally ill and/or chemically dependant. I hope you're not getting soft on us?!

Just because they are jerks and didn't schedule you any hours, you should still put in 2 weeks notice. That's the right way to do it. Otherwise they will say you abandoned your job and you don't want that on your conscience.

Btw, it happens often that after someone puts in 2 weeks notice, they pull that person off the schedule.

Good luck in your new place and congrats on getting out!

Good job use your vacation for two weeks of no work then saying bye.  Kroger sucks.  I noticed it is very rarely that most people do not even bother to show up for their two weeks notice.  Good luck.
