Youre listening to the in store audio network generic sound effect go ahead and sing along we dont mind!
I filed a complaint with Kroger about the Northwest Cherries ad via my FB-BUT I don't have any indicators of Kroger as employment on my info page. And if I have to listen to "Torn Between Two Lovers" one more time.........
Just so you know, guys...The station CAN be changed...We had the straight continual loop of overplayed songs for several weeks...It got to the point that even our store manager was tired of the crap and the repetition...He did some investigating after several of us complained and found out how to change the channel and play a bit more variety...I'm hearing a lot more of the 80's now...A wider mix...and it's at least more interesting than hearing the same 10 songs for months on end...I think most stores just don't want to mess with it...But, if enough people complain, maybe something can be done!
But that ding-ding-ding has made me swear off them.
"best growing season ever" Yeah, same as last year. Choke on the pits, you smarm-whore scum.
===
"It's just wine--drink it" you proletarian flyover scum. Yeah, if that's your attitude, I'm sure it's great stuff, almost as good as the wood pulp loaves from Dave's Bread or "My Favorite" overbrewed industrial iced tea. Bonus: "edgy labels".
===
Then there's the fake operational chatter for the marks: "Security check in area AB". We don't have an area AB. Nobody knows how to conduct a "security check". And the spot plays at exactly the same time every morning.
"Night crew and grocery manager, be sure the doors are locked and alarms are set. If you are experiencing alarm issues, please call KCAC" Nobody knows how to contact KCAC, or who they are. Plays at obnoxious volume several times after closing.
Oh, and you should see everyone jump to complete their "Freshness checks". MMM-Boy howdy, we must have the freshest fresh in town!

Oh yeah? Exactly HOW do you "CHANGE THE CHANNEL"???? Please give specifics. At our store, it appears to be a highly guarded secret, or something that our dumb managers have no knowledge or interest in. Same mix been playing for 5 years +. Manic Monday at least once a day, every day of the week. "I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW" at least once a day usually between 3 and 6 in the morning. PLEASE MISTER PLEASE every day. (The only Olivia Newton-John song they ever play). And gobs of other examples I don't have time to go into.

I know some of you know this already, but I suspect A LOT Of you employees (some older ones, but especially you young ones who haven't learned a lot about this world in your brief time on earth so far) have no idea that MUSIC has been used as an instrument of actual TORTURE (albeit mental torture) for many years, in many countries including the USA. This is no joke!! You can find lots of webpages discussing this by just doing a quick google search with keywords : music used as torture.
ANY kind of music (the most-often used is Heavy METAL ROCK, and RAP) BUT any kind can be effective if turned up loud and repeated enough times to drive prisoners totally crazy!!!
If I had more "pull" and knew how to go about it successfully, I would start a petition to get ALL stores (not just Kroger) to remove background music/audio from their stores altogether. It serves no real purpose other than making shoppers more nervous than they already are. Not to mention the stress it can put on employees who have to endure this stuff for months and years on end.
PS. I noticed Meijer and Walmart are also using In Store Audio Network. Heard the same drivel songs on their feed while shopping there in the last week.

On the Kweb in our division there is a form you print its under "Music" sub category and then you fax or email it to In Store Audio Network with % of what category of music you want played and the times of the day etc. Its not hard at all for management to do...nor does it take that long

How did we get it changed, you ask??? Well...We found out after a little investigating that the music feed was emanating from the bakery and that our bakery manager had control over it...One of our department members brought the subject up and we all agreed that SOMETHING needed to be done about the repetition...It was driving everyone absolutely crazy!!! Several complaints were brought up to our store manager, who fortunately for us, also agreed at how annoying it was...If you want things to change, get a manager you trust to hear your complaints and maybe it'll be the impetus for him or her to change things...
Remember, guys, if you don't complain, you deserve what you get! It's about time that you guys start demanding better and having your voices heard...And this is but ONE example!
Maybe as an aside to a manager you trust one day, say something like "How can you listen to the same stuff day after day?" or "Is there a way we can change this channel sometime?" There are many who may not have even given it a second thought and don't even realize how it's affecting employee morale...At least if it's mentioned, the thought and the issue will be on their minds and possibly, maybe it'll be enough to get them to change the channel...

Ah, very good. Does anybody know what level of management has access to it? And how fancy is the form? I'd soil myself in glee if I could nab a copy of the form and fax it off whenever I got sick of the music.

Not sure what level but I know that department heads can access the form, at least in our division. Its the same form across divisions it appears. Easy way to find it is go to Barneyweb search for "Music Selection Sheet" and it will be either a Word or PDF file, now I wouldn't fill it out and send it without asking first...but hell they may never know who did it and they can always send another form and change it. You could get in trouble....maybe
Some people don't realize but you can actually access Barneyweb outside of the internal inTRAnet by logging into GreatPeople.me -> scroll all the way to the bottom left corner click "Additional Links" -> Barneyweb URL will be on next page

WHAT?????? That took me to a site apparently devoted to improving your skills on Public Speaking. (Bluegrass Masters Toastmasters ???????).
I think either the URL has completely changed content, or you are confused. Certainly nothing whatsoever to do with a music selection form, In Store Audio Network, or songs played in Kroger stores.
