some lady today walked in our store with a walmart shopping cart. loaded it with food went to a self check out scanned only one 12 pack pepsi and proceeded to leave. She was stopped and question and she said she bought the food at walmart but forgot the drinks. so she stopped here to get some. The camera of coarse showed other wise.. cops came and she was taken away but then wanted to press charges saying we were stealing her pepsi.
Lol, I loved people that did that. I always got a kick out of the people that purchased a few items and then got caught with stealing. If they are walked out in cuff and do not take their items....thats on them. In reality anyone leaving in cuffs is banned and they can either take the stuff with them or get a friend to pick it up.
Does Kroger ACTUALLY prosecute shoplifters? I know Publix in this area does-and there are signs in the back of their stores to that effect. The incidents of shoplifting in our store I can only recall the police being called 3 or 4 times
One time we had a guy try to leave with a cart full of booze that he hadn't paid for. The manager just grabbed the cart from him and pushed it back into the store and told him "Have a nice day."
My old store manager at the last store i worked at thoroughly enjoyed catching and going after these shoplifters. Working in Dayton she kind of had to be. She doesn't work for Kroger anymore, but she was awesome at that.
