How many cashiers are on your store at any one time? It seems Kroger is trying to shift the focus to self-checkout

We are lucky if we have 3 check lanes open. Most shifts I have worked so far have only two. Is this a deliberate action by Kroger or just good old-fashioned short staffing?

AFAIK here in the Local 1996 area *every* store (ALDI/Publix/Whole Foods) is CLOSED tomorrow. It would not hurt Kroger's profits one bit and in fact it would create a lot of good will with employees
