Store 535 (North Richland Hills, Texas) is getting a Cincinnati walk. Skeleton crews from area stores are getting raided to doll up for the dog-and-pony show. It's over 800 air miles from Cincinnati, so, what's the likely motivation? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

We all know it. I run the Bistro UScan at my store and they barely have anyone to run it. They have like 4 people that can use Uscan, seriously. They dont schedule the people that can run it cause the front end gets no freakin hours, so they sometimes have a Deli clerk running it if theres no one else availabl...

Was on Vacation last week. Noone put supply order in so no toilet paper or paper towels. So VALUE me RESPECT me. And stop telling me there is no paper towels. Use the blower after washing your hands or use your shirt. Or just do what I do let them dry on their own.

The front-end supervisors and managers at the location I work at as a cashier are not on the same page regarding the constant evaluations being done at work. There are supervisors and managers who are happy with the job you are doing, but then there are supervisors who are not happy with the job you are d...

They cared about your ring tender score. But now they don't. Instead, they care what percentage of produce barcodes you're scanning. Every week they go to each cashier and update us on our produce scanning performance.

"Store Leader" sounds like an odd, forced term, doesn't it. It reminds me of "Dear Leader" . . . which is not a flattering comparison.

One of the most bizarre customers to ever grace my Uscan. Cart FULL of groceries that they needed a second cart to put the bags. They're eating potato chips that they're spilling all over the floor (wonder if they paid for them). They ask me for help scanning their items (which means I'm now their person...

Mysterious and confusing lure about a "Ultimate Tailgate Experience". Named Frito Lay, Coca-Cola, Jennie-O, P & G, Heinz, Kraft, Rojo's, Smithfield, Kellogg's, Keebler, OLE, and Arrowhead as co-sponsors, so maybe we don't need those brands, either. Up with sports, down with corporate!...

What are your pros and cons of the job? How many cases per hour do you throw per night? Do you feel as long as you throw 45 CPH that you will not get fired? I enjoy the job but I am getting older and can't see doing it for another 5 years. What department is more long term?

Im sure we all have some fine insults customers have thrown in our faces? I think my favorite was the other day when a customer said something about being mental(I dont know what exactly but it seemed to be implied she thought I was retarded just for sweeping the floor near her. Guess wanting the floor to...

First off let me start by saying that I know I'm gonna get troll comments on this post. I don't care. But yes this did actually happen, and I'm not sure what to do about it. So I'm a young college girl, and I work part time in the meat department. Of course, the meat department is widely a male department, bu...

In the Savannah Georgia area about 50 or 60 miles from Savannah they were going to build a new Kroger. They purchased the land a few years ago maybe 5 years ago. Found out that the land was contaminated not sure with what. It turns out Kroger sold the land and now this town is getting a Publix. I do not know i...

why is that? When a big wig or even a measly corporate worm comes in, nobody tells it how it is. All they want to do is pump in the hours to make it look pretty and pretend this is how it is every day when that couldn't be further from the truth. In all my years, all I've heard about any minor gripes is "gee I wi...

The past couple months things have been crazy. Aside from the nearly 20% reduction in hours, 6 store managers were given new opportunities for their Kroger future. Among the options are retire, step down or get fired. Every single one of these individuals are 55 years and older. With the exception of...
