So we used to do case discounts for customers (if they had a case of say, 24 cans of beans, they'd get 10% off those cans). Customers got used to this and quite a few still request it, but we've been (vaguely) told we're not supposed to do them except on special orders (i.e. huge orders where the total ends u...

Apparently some genius in our district decided that all cashiers saying the above to every single customer coming through their line would magically boost friendliness ratings. Needless to say, we're nonplussed at best. Also, good thing we aren't graded on speed or anything like that @_@

Okay, what are your "Tips & Tricks" for keeping things full, helping customers and getting all your tasks done (breaking down truck, processing certain fruits/vegetables, closing duties, etc.) in a timely matter (No overtime, unless authorized to have it!)? Especially, if you a...

So I got "suspend pend" for supposedly leaving a float out of Frozen Foods they claim was worth ~$200 (It was maybe 10-12 boxes). Does anyone have any information on the "zero tolerance" policy for firing someone over loss? Notes: -I don't remember leaving this float out, but i...

So last week the server was offline when I tried to clock in, the other girl clocking in said to just sign the time sheet, I did that when I clocked in and clocked out, today the same thing but one of the supervisors (not mine) told me that you can't do that that it actually clocked you in even if it's offline....

So here in the Atlanta market, about a month or so ago we courtesy clerks 'lost' our cooler of water by the main entrance. Yea. So we're back to paying for our own drinks (Gatorade, Kickstarter, bottled Kroger-brand water, etc.) to help keep hydrated and cool while bringing in those goddamned shoppin...

Did you know that now you can type in anyone's name and find out what store they work in? I'm not sure if that's cool or creepy. I mean, it's nice you can find out what store former employees went to, but it seems stalker-y too. lol

So one day while I was on lot duty I was informed that I was wrote up on an SI for not having a cart strap while I was on lot. The thing is I keep the strap in the lobby in case I have a large load. But instead I apparently have to carry the damn thing with me and use it if I have more than one cart per load. I am sick and t...

This isn't the kind of question a person asks around the store, so I thought maybe I'd ask here since I thought I recalled reading a post pertaining to this at one point, and if nobody knows, that's fine... I'll probably still end up quitting anyway if I get the job offer I hope to get, but if a person gives t...

My home dryer is on the fritz. Needs a new heating coil. I had someone come over and examine it, which is how we (this person and myself) determined it was a heating coil issue. Well. If anyone working at Kroger knows Front End -- and you have my sympathy if you do -- you know that the parking lot duty is hot,...
