I work at a store in Indiana and I have been there as a bagger/ courtesy clerk for 7 months now. There is almost a completely new set of baggers since I first started. Almost a month ago, one of the assistant floor managers asked me if I wanted to be cashier and I gladly said yes. I understood that it would tak...

Freezeshop instead of sweatshop? I swear the air condition is on in our store during the winter. Customers complain, say they won't come back. Employees are wearing coats and layers of clothing just to work. Hey execs, turn up or on the heat down in Texas..it gets cold down here too idiots.

So there is this lazy ass cutter that I work with who I obviously cannot name. As anyone who has worked in the meat department would know, when you do trim you have to log it under the grinder log in the wic guns. Before it lets you finish logging your grinds it asks if the grinder was cleaned. To which you ans...

I asked my store manager if I could leave early due to the snow. I do not have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. She said I was "unbelievable" and implied she would write me up on my next shift. Can she do that?

So my manager mentioned something about this new E-Scheduling we're switching over to. Basically a computer sorts our your work hours based on available department hours and your availability. I've been getting 32 hours per week for the past couple months as part time. I was wondering if this new sk...

I'm union, local 2 (Missouri). I work part time 20-22 hours per week. Does anyone know how many hours I need to work per week or month to be elligible for health insurance? Also, how long do I need to work to apply for insurance, is it 12 or 18 months? Last question is, IF I get an insurance, can I pay e...

I work in the front end so would my employer be the floor manager, the store manager, the person who hired me, or who? Because my floor manager is holding off a promotion but I'm not sure if its up to her.

I'm a stocker on the night crew working midnights, and the new store manager wants us to use the scan guns. The manager had a big shot to come in this past week and give us a 2 hour class on CAO training. I'm okay with scanning the BOH on backstock, but I don't know about ordering the Holes, is that really t...

Is it proper or even allowed for an assistant manager to be best buds with an employee? The reason I ask is because this employee may have had influence over the manager in an incident involving a demotion.

Occasionally I am scheduled to pull product out from underneath the shelves. On a normal day I can get the entire store done with a little time left over. However the last time I did it I ended up filling five carts to the brim and didn't get the store done. I found out that the grocery crew don't want to pick...

So I just checked my hours for next week and would you believe how many I got? 9! Now I don't know how it is at other stores, but is there anything I can do about trying to get more hours? I know that I am only a minor and my hours are restricted, and when my manager explained this to me I slowly began to accept the...

What exactly does the bakery coordinator do? He came to my store today and asked about a bunch of Key Retailing reports. Do these people audit KR or something?

I really want to know what others think about this issue. I'll keep it clear and short. I have been at kroger for 16 months now. I have missed 1 day due to illness in this time. I was in an department and moved to another recently. The reasoning was "your availability no longer meets the needs of gr...
