Vesting/Pensions
(Preview)
Was wondering if anyone on here knows when the company starts the process in vesting into your pension? Example, you get hired in at full time status, does the vesting start from date of hire, or after a certain amount of months? Employed 10 years, thanks!

calling in sick?
(Preview)
I haven't been feeling well and I can't work my scheduled shift. Who do you talk to when you call in? I'm a cashier, so would I talk to one of the front end managers or the regular store manager or is it someone else? Can they deny you calling in and make you come in anyway? Sorry these are such dumb questions,...

Baffling Lies
(Preview)
So we've all been there: Customer desires a product not present in set, so clerk awkwardly fumbles through the standard "If a replacement won't do, we'll try to order some, and we apologize for being such bad people" rigamarole. Then comes the parry: "But I bought some here...

when someone in your dept gets injured
(Preview)
does your manager come around with a clipboard asking you to sign it? They always make you feel rushed so you don't really get to read what you're signing but they tell you that "you're signing it because you're in xxx dept and xxx got injured"

Back Stock Review
(Preview)
I work in the produce department at my local Kroger. It's a cool job, well, most of the time. Every week we have to do back stock review with our croutons, salad dressings, dips, and juice. My biggest problem is my manager orders too much stuff and I have loads of back stock on our shelves in the cooler and o...

ELMS CCG tender time question
(Preview)
I'm still a little confused how total efficiency is measured as related to IPM and tender time. Do those have some kind of flat values on them or is it all just about earning your ring/tender time on the register? For example, when I got 106% efficiency for the week at the end of the day (no sale 96 sign on) m...

Does anyone know why I keep not getting scheduled?

I got hired as a cashier at a career fair. I wanted to work only weekend mornings. The lady that interviewed me talked me into making myself available pretty much all the time on the weekend and also for very long days two days a week. She said this would mean I get hours since this is when the store needs peo...

does anyone work in a zone where this occurs?
(Preview)
a coworker told me that there are divisions/zones where the people with the most seniority store-wide are able to take dept manager jobs (I assume when they become availiable) regardless of experience. This means that Agnes who's worked in the deli for 45 years could suddenly decide she wants to be...

Seniority/Availability
(Preview)
I was just wondering how everyone's stores determine seniority. Before e-schedule started at my store, it was determined solely based on the amount of time worked for Kroger. Now availability is also factored into where you fall in the seniority list. This got me curious as to what kind of calculati...
