Anyone heard of this? In Michigan, laws have been changed due to the right-to-work legislation that was pushed through by the governor. Now, the union stewards are asking employees if they'd like to stay in or opt out of the union. If they want to stay in, there's a form to fill out. If they opt out, then ...

Why would Kroger fire a Customer Service Desk employee for helping a customer scratch off lottery tickets. It was at closing and the customer asked her for assistance. No written warning at all, just terminated. What say you?

So... yeah, it seems the store I'm at fails at Key Retailing and corporate isn't very happy even though I've heard from certain people in management that our store is the second busiest in the district with numbers that are getting better year after year. Management and the department heads got torn i...

I looked at my paystub for 1/4/13 and it looks like they're taking out too much for medicare. I believe the tax rate is 1.45%, but it looks like they took out closer to 6%. I looked at my paystubs for 2012 and they took out only 1.45%. I am aware that Social Security payroll taxes have increased from 4.2% to 6...

With these comments by Dave Dillon , I have to wonder what the plan is for this company as contract talks come up for us and other locals. Mr Dillon said Kroger intended to continue covering all full-time employees but maintained that parts of the law were simply not workable. If you look through th...

On Wednesday we all had to go upstairs and take a computer test on data leaks. One of the things they talked about in the test was posting negative things about Kroger anywhere online, including forums. It made me laugh.

So how much of that new French bread has your store thrown away? A case (16 loaves) each hour for three hours is ridiculous. We probably wouldn't sell one case the entire evening. Anytime they do something like that and insist you do so much whether you know it's going to sell or not, somebody is gett...

Is it acceptable? I cannot for the life of me pronounce one of our manager's last name. I thought of paging him over the intercom as Mr (Firstname) but everyone in my department acted horrified. Now I just say "any available manager" when I need to talk to him and sometimes I get a manager who i...

I'm sick today. It's gotten pretty bad over the last few hours and it seems to be getting worse. Luckily I was off today, but I don't see myself getting better by tomorrow. I'd rather just call off tonight and not have to worry about waking up 2 hours early to call off tomorrow morning. Do they give you a ha...
