So, in the two years I've worked at Kroger I've only called off three times. But for the past two days I've had a 101 degree fever, have been vomiting and dripping mucus, and shivering like crazy from feeling cold (despite my 80 degree room). I waited until two and a half hours before my shift, hoping the m...

They schedule 3 people to close the deli on weekday nights, but then on the weekend they only schedule 2. Uh, hello? Barring Friday, we're pretty dead weekday nights, and we're slammed Saturday and Sunday to the point where we have problems closing on time. I don't understand the logic behind this??...

Am i the only one who understands this is not a way to improve customer service, it's a way to have less people working (less hours, more money in Korger's pockets?) Seriously, the Quevision thing doesn't even work efficiently. No matter what, at several points throughout the day people from custom...

At work Sunday a note was posted by management about call offs in bad weather. And it stated that they are tired of us using the weather as an excuse to call in. And it's (according to the letter) usually people who live closest to the store that call in the most during bad weather and that 95% of the emplo...

This is my situation, I graduated with a degree in web design 6 months back, naively thinking i was going to land an entry-level, full-time dream job. what i found out instead was how competitive it was and have had so many interviews with no job offers. anyway, recently i decided to settle for any full-...

Hello, I'll start training for a new company in two weeks. After training they will hire me if I pass training. I have 3 vacations, 3 personal days. I'd like to work one day a week for a while to at least stay on payroll and keep my foot in the door. Any advice on how to take these vacations/PD? There is also t...

I asked for my vacation during my spring break, March 3rd. I even wrote "March 3rd" on the paper. Well guess what? I'm on vacation this week. Wtf? And it's not like someone with more seniority got that week, I have the second most senority in my department and no one else even asked for that wee...

I will be starting at Kroger on the 21st, and the person who hired me, literally gave me no information about starting. They mailed me a shirt and name tag. Can anyone tell me all about what I get and everything about being an employee part-time at Kroger?

Within the next few weeks, a total of 3 baggers are gonna be promoted to other departments. I'm not one of them, but I do think I'm definitely worthy of one sometime in the future. Are there certain things that store management is looking for from baggers in order to promote them?
