Has anyone ever been wrote up for speaking their mind at Kroger? Because I know at least at MY Krogers expressing your opinion is "not allowed" and you should just "shut up and do your work" according to one of the co-managers. I got a little hot headed at work tonight and I'm just waiting to hear something about it tomorrow when I go in at 1.
I work Deli as a Closer. Cleaning is a major chore there because nobody seems to know how to clean up after themselves - needless to say we never get out on time. Doing a half-ass job doesn't cut it. Had a co-worker clean something the other night. He spent a good 20 minutes on it, so I know he wasn't lazy about it. However the first thing I heard today "Wasn't good enough, do it again" Nothing is ever good enough for Krogers, I don't know why! I was angry so I quickly jumped to the defense of him.
"You know what, this isn't everyone's dream job have some respect for these people that work long hours and very little pay the least a "Supervisor" could do is try to at least encourage their employees. Tell them once in a while they ARE doing a good job not just the negative stuff. Maybe they will work a little better... "
I'm not sure she knew what to say at first took her a couple minutes and backfired with "its YOUR choice to work here" In this day of age anyone will settle for whatever they find. Whatever makes rent! Then I "apolgized" for speaking my mind and said that for now on like you I will be your Puppet! She just walked out. She's a new "supervisor" . Problem with Supervisors and Managment - They forget what its like to be a associate. They're always running around like chickens with their head cut off.
you should know most of the managment have never been assocates, most have that deer in the headlights look
I love seeing that deer in the headlights look. Reminds me of the time I walked in on the fat black deli woman giving head to the meat dept manager. Best deer look ever.
