Most aren't hiring anybody.Even after workers quit. At least not in our store. They should take down the sign on the door that advertises "Now Hiring". Because thats complete BS. They aren't hiring because they spread the missing persons load onto the remaining. Less overhead=more profits for them. More profits for them=more misery/difficulties for the remaining few.
I don't recommend Kroger to anyone. They are harsh and demand more than you can do consistently. Now the holiday's are looming and it'll get worse. Yea, its gonna be a happy holidays for some, but not the employees. The only concession is-Its a job/check.
Look for something else or another close grocery if you want to work in a foodstore. Walmart maybe. They're not as bad as Kroger these days.
First of all, if you are 15 years old you have to have your parents permission and also i think that you need something from school like a work release paper or something. second of all, like the other person on here said, the question is, Is Kroger hiring? go to www.kroger.com click on career opportunities and the type in the zip code to the store you are interested in getting a job and then go from there but always call back to that store and ask them about your application. third of all, only management can get you a job at Kroger, none of the employees has anything to do with the hiring.
go to www.kroger.com scroll down to career/opportunities, click on it fill out the application. and send it in. once you've done that call the store that you applied in and ask them if they got your application. you also have to go to your school and tell them that you need a work permit to work since you are only 15 years old. if hired by kroger then they have to give you at least 15 hours a week. you just cannot go in a ask an employee to get you a job like your dad suggested. that just won't work. like the other person said, and I quote "the question is, is kroger hiring?" the best time to try to apply for a job at kroger and a good possiblitily that you will get hired is just right before school starts in the fall or just right before school ends in the summer or like right now, when the holidays are upon us, and they need all the help they they can get. now after the holidays your hours will slack but be patience because they will pick back up in the summer time. to let you know that i know what i'm talking about i work in th e office at my store and these are our rules. now they may vary in the store that you are applying in but it should be similar. right now my store has hired 6 people in the last 2 months and 3 of those were hired in the last couple of days, and that's because thanksgiving and Christmas are upon us. So if you go apply now you very well just might get a job. So good luck and i hope if you are hired you will like your job. kroger isn't the best place for anyone to work but at least it's a job, and in my store we are union so if the store you are applying for is union, once you get into the union they cannot fire you without a very good reason, unless you steal something or cuss out management or hit a manager, they cannot fire you. so once again, GOOD LUCK. hope that this information helps you and welcome to the working world. GOOD LUCK FROM YOUR FRIEND AT 770.
Kroger is okay for a beginner job but I wouldn't go more than 3-5 yrs with this company. Before the daily grind kicks in and you become bitter. Do 5 yrs to lock in the pension.
You can do much better. Too much like joining a gang or some other terrorist organization that wants you for a slave. Give you education all you've got and please aim higher.
Looks like Kroger hires anyone no matter how they look. The store I used to work one girl looks like a bunny rabbit she is a little tall a bit chubby and head shaped like a bunny rabbit. Another guy he looks like Harry from Harry and the Hendersons. Let's not even talk about the management they have now.
You're 15 so you're limited to courtesy clerk work and starbucks. Maybe click list depending upon state laws.
Apply online. Go to store desired to work at. Ask to talk to hiring manager. (Most of these people work morning to day and are done by abt 2-3 pm.
I caution you. Kroger is a good entry level job but not a career job. I've been working here 15 yrs. It's stale repetitive work. You'll be minimum wage for several years while you work through the pay steps up to jrnyman pay. If you sucked it up and got to jrnyman pay... It's not great but it's a livable wage if you live within your means.
If you're disabled I'd suggest any where but kroger.. I'm highly functioning and kroger has a habit of shoving people in one position and leaving them there for ever. Then you have to repeatedly fight for your union rights time and time again. You will NOT see any career advancement in this company. I've been repeatedly refused and denied could of been lead positions. had to file more than one union greivence for miss understanding (+mental issues) ontop of grievances against coworkers thinking they could get away with b.s. that would get most people fired at "normal" companies.
If you need income it's a good now income job but don't hold your breath. Work it for a few years then apply for better jobs.
