On feb 6 I went on a interview everything was going well I was kinda tired the interview was at 6pm but everything went well he asked the normal questions about the job. I then did the drug test which was a mouth swab kind of test. After that the interview was about over so he said he would call sometime during next week. Today is march 2 and I have called the store about 2 times but everytime he is not in. So what is going on I really need this job from kroger so any advice would be helpful thank you.

Keep looking dude. Don't wait on these a$$holes to call. Never quit looking for better. When its all over, you may wish you'd never seen Kroger. SO it may be a blessing you don't get caught in a dead end worthless job. Once in that rut, you'll never get out, they'll see it.

Why don't you ask when the person will be in. Call up then. Even better drop by the store to get some basics and while there see if the guy is in. let us know how it goes.

kroger is not a dead - end job. It is for those who don't give a damn. We have thousands upon thousands of employees. Some have worked at kroger for years and years (they are the good ones) while others leave in under a month or two if not a year (these are the trash). i bet if you look closely at the characteristics of each group you will see what makes the good ones good and the bad ones bad. people who bitch about kroger and their job most likely have some flaws. people who see kroger as dead-end probably didn't do that great in other areas of their life and it carries over to kroger.

The dude, do you really work at Kroger? Like seriously, it is a totally dead end job. The people that leave after a year or less just are tired of all the crap that all of us employees take everyday. I work with people that have worked there for over 5 years and have gotten nowhere and it's not cause they can't or they aren't hard workers, it is because that's what Kroger is and obviously you must be like a manager or someone that doesn't actually have to work on the floor with everyone else. Because if you were one of these people you wouldn't even begin to think that you might have a future doing anything else or making any more money that pretty much minimum wage.

But to the original post, don't worry about them not calling you back. You really don't want to work there. The job is awful especially if your a bagger, or as they say a courtesy clerk. It can be a fun job if you make it fun like most people have to to keep their sanity and that makes your pretty close to the people that you work with, but if you have a choice to work somewhere else don't choose Kroger. It's just a job for teenagers that are looking for a pay check without having to do to much and then will leave to go to college or when they get out of college.

might be a dead end job if your not going to commit yourself to being great at your job. Part timers are pretty much bottom feeders at kroger but once you move into a full time position your pay will increase every 6 months until your maxed out. Something like 16 dollars an hour depending on where you live.

Yeah...full time would be wonderful. Unfortunately, my store is so stingy with hours, I'm surprised we even have associates.

In regards to OP, if they haven't called you in almost a month, then you probably won't get the job. They called me about 3 days after my interview to set up my training day. Let us know if you have had any luck.
