iim a bagger at krogers is it true if you work in another department such as produce, dairy, met dept, deli, and bakery you get a raise every 6 month im just curious  michigan store

you get a raise based on the hours you work. after 1000 hours you should get a raise - regardless of where you work. you then get a raise after the next 1000 hours. go ask for your union book and in the back it should explain pay scale

NO! Since minimum wage increased raises vary. However, if you are a courtesy clerk by classificatin you can NOT work above that job classification. No one can work above their classification! ANY bagger who works in a department (any) or cashiers (including self-checkouts) MUST be classified as a clerk. Clerks pay, raises AND benefits are better than those of a bagger so being classified properly is important to guarantee your salary and raises are accurate. Also know that is it permissable for a clerk to be assigned shifts and duties of a bagger as working below your classification is allowed.
