Hey all. Just curious if anyone knows anything about the music I've been hearing lately over the loudspeakers in Kroger. What's the deal with all the TV theme songs (Green Acres is the place to be...) and songs about chicken (Chicken Dance, Chicken Soup With Rice, Funky Chicken). I hear that the same playlist is infecting other stores as well. I'm sure there must be a reason for it, but it's a little weird...
it is here in the Terre Haute Indiana zone too. Seems like they play it between 4 and 7 pm. Pure torture. Although the star trek theme is kinda cool. da da da da da da da da BATMAN LOL.

same music in Dallas also. But I do remember , in the early 90`s , that they once just had a local station on the air and herd a commercail for Tom Thumb stores.
Well, while the Addams family theme song may be strange to listen to working at Kroger, I would just like to say that nothing is worse than Beyonce's "Single Ladies". That song just drives me up the wall alone, but really? On Kroger's radio? Come on.
But there is also a lot of John Mayer. I think they play at least 5 or 6 of his songs. Which is NOT a bad thing in my book. Very relaxing, even at Kroger.
Some moron decided themed music from 4-8 on the airwaves will generate more chicken sales. Think Addams Family-chicken - Yea - me too ! Makes me want to run to the Deli and buy a Chicken ! Don't chuckle-these dopes in G.O. gave a round of applause at this brilliance of thought by the person! Promoted up the ranks for the sheer genius. Is that why the stock market is up and all our competitors stocks just climbed and we lost $3.00 in the last two days? Maybe investors have finally figured out what we in the stores already know- these buffoons just don't get it!
We were all laughing about this one day. I think the order was something like:
"Green Acres" "Spiderman" "Chicken Dance" "Live Like We're Dying" by Kris Allen "Live Like We're Dying" by Kris Allen (yes, they played it two times in a row) "Addams Family" "Batman" "Over My Head" by The Fray
I'm not exaggerating. Thank God it only lasted a few days.
hate to bump an old thread, but we had the same music too, it didn't last long though. maybe a week. It's been gone for at least a month or more now...i enjoyed hearing some new pop instead of our old stuff everyday.
