Now that our vacations are over in grocery i got a total of 16 hours this week, and they had to move someone out of grocery just so he could obtain some hours. No wonder people opt for unemployment now days. I could make more money sitting at home doing nothing than i could working at this place. For the size of are store, we make a killing. I always knew the little saying "More profit equals more hours." was BS
the reason why we are In a recession, is coperations refusing to part with a dollar, even where needed, and thus, nobody has money BUT the coperations.
Kroger may be worse, but all coperations are pulling this crap, milking the bad economy for every cent they can.
Oh, the bad economy, we can't afford more people.
yet lines are long, workers over worked, and the top dogs rolling in wealth.

A good example of this are the factories. No longer can you just submit an application for a laborer position (i.e.: shoveling and cleaning off sht, literally) ; now, you have to submit a resume' and sit in for a written test that is seriously composed of math questions designed for a Mechanical Engineer.
In other words, these places are looking for rocket-science intellect that can also do all the grunt work. And the sad reality? In this economy, they're GETTING 'em. By the droves.
B.T.W.: I know these things for a fact because I speak from recent personal experience.
with trying to read all your post and seeing the gramatical errors in them - who in their right mind would want to hire a bunch of morons! you certainly do show that you are not rocket scientists and most likely made it through high school.....
btw - there is a spell check on here. you might learn something by using it!
Hours are getting cut at my store with memorial day coming up and they are hiring people. But they are lucky to get 15 hours. Kroger seems to think that saving money is the same as making money. As the saying goes, you gotta spend money to make money.
The size of the store quantifies the amount of hours to an extent. Especially in grocery. Their view is less space less time. You could be the top sales in your district and get less hours than number two or three because you have less space. Krogers is squeezing their employees and getting resentment for it. This resentment leads to less productive employees so they squeeze harder. I truly believe krogers could run itself in to the ground like this. They are crushing customer service, employee productivity, and their overall image.
