Apparently the company convinced the existing employees on the 2006 contract that it was ok to screw everyone after that point as long as their pay didnt go down.
They also get better Pension rates, lower part time cap, OT on holidays, +dollar on Sundays on top of a higher pay rate.
On a side note, of the 1700 people who paid union dues 400 voted on the new contract. 320 voted yes, 80 voted no.
18.9% of the members made a decision for all.
For god's sake people need to take part in their union.
Kroger's sales must not be as big in that area as they are in the Mid South division. Current top pay for full time employees is $13.70/hr. Full time pay for people who got their full time before 12/11/83 is $15.82/hr. Department heads make between $17.90 and $18.70 depending upon total store sales. Head dairy and frozen coordinators make between $14.60 and $15.60.
