How do you clean up a mess of diarrhea? One of my co-workers told me that he had to assess the situation before. I don't think spill magic solves it, because you'll literally get sh** all over your broom. I figure any cleaning tool should never be used again after using it for that purpose. I could use good suggestions because someday I might have to clean a situation like that.
Reminds me of a time an elderly guy had it pouring out of his pants leg, through the middle of the baking aisle, down the baby aisle all the way to the restroom. Runny, disgusting diarrhea.
I'm glad I was leaving for the day just as it happened, as the whole store smelt like a sewer.

That's gross, and so sad. I'm sure that poor man was humiliated.
I'm the guy that started this topic. I'm glad to know I haven't seen the worst yet. Tho today I saw someone elses "snake" in the toilet that wouldn't flush down. It was during my break so I didn't clean it. When I punched in I didn't even bother to tell anyone because they would've told me to clean it.
One time one of my supervisors asked if I could pick up some poop over by the time clock. I didn't think that it was poop, so I went to pick it up with my bare hands before someone told me not to and handed me a plastic bag, informing me that it really was poop. When I was done throwing it away, my supervisor asked me if I was "pooped". Yeah, fun times.
I would walk out before I had to clean somebody elses fecal matter, if I attempted to do such a thing I would end up vomiting everywhere and just adding to the mess.
You treat all bodily fluids as infected with blood born pathigans. Gloves, goggles, biohazard bags, cloth/paper towels and mop with bleach water (1/16th IIRC).

I usually just use gloves and a mop for this. Then throw the mop head away. One night we had a old man that did this. He stayed in the stall for over an hour. Anothey man was going crazy harassing the manager asking her of she was going to do anything about the smell. We were doing the best we could. I stayed over an hour waiting on the man to leave. The manager asked the man if he wanted to wear a meat coat so he could leave. I cannot remember if he took it or not but he finally left. It was not really too bad. We now have hosepipes to wash away messes. And I just have to add another story. One day someone threw up in the parking lot. One of the baggers did not say anything to anyone. He just went and got a bucket and some water and washed it away. I made shure he got a shining stary for that.

I am sorry to post on such a gross topic that was bumped from 2010. Bag Boy is right, But it seems no one will follow the real directions on how to do this. I made a comment in another post about how people would heave dirty mop buckets out and dirty mops out. My manager hated I did this but every morning I ALWAYS get a new mop head. Just because I don't know what was cleaned up the day before. My Manager said I was wasting mop heads. I didn't care though I still did it. People would leave crap in mop buckets also with the mop they used. They looked at the video's and they signed the paper that they agree how to clean up messes. But they never followed it and management did nothing.
We tried making a courtesy clerk clean it up, but they opted to let it sit and sit and sit. (They locked the stall though.) By the time it was cleaned, all that needed to be done was sweep it away. Yes, it had dried up. Apparently, cleaning a mess like that was "beyond their pay rate" so management "helped" them out and made them able to freely search for a new job that fit "their pay rate."

That's why they put in hoses and sanitizer hook up's at my old store. You just spray it down the drain in the floor. Then you spray sanitizer all over both stall's while your at it. Then get a clean mop head and dry the water up. You may need to damp the mop then throw the mop head away.

This is what I mean. associates who walk around the store letting their sweet **** butt just drink up the store. Its bad enough they dont buy or use soap but now their just walking around with brown runs down their legs. Good lord yall are fldisgusting filth!

If you ever run into this again, go to baking aisle and grab a bag of sugar, then go grab some vegetable oil, go back to mess. Pour enough sugar over poop to completely cover it up, then reclaim sugar bag. This gives sugar a few minutes to set up on the poop. Then pour vegetable oil on top of mound of sugar. Grab about a handful or 2 of water and drop on top of this. Close off bathroom stall and put a sign down. Come back in a couple of hours and scoop up hardened mess and deposit in toilet.
