i work 11-7 in night stock i always work 8 hour plus shifts just so me an the crew get finished trying to cut my hours to 24 head stock manger told him i was needed so job was done back to 36 hours for past two weeks thing is they expect me to work 12-6 not 11-7 i cannot get done if i do 12-6 breaking truck down etc.......... so i just work 8 hours shifts basicly i wanted to know if this is okay because i been feeling like the store manger has been pissed at me as well as others in the store whos hours gettin cut i have been here less than a year if it matters
as long as your manager is approving the extra hours each shift, it's not your problem. if your manager isn't approving the extra time, just work the hours they give you and if it doesn't get done they need to know why. it's really all you can do. you don't want to get in trouble or accused of something unethical. it's not worth it.
i overheard today the store manager say i'm getting too many hours and i'm not even hitting 40. it's not my fault they call me in or ask me to stay because they don't schedule right or people call off.
Either by staffing you less or just firing you. Kroger seems to think they solve problems better by kicking people than looking in to their own issues.
My advice for the OP, make sure every time you need to work over you talk to your manager. For all you or any of us know, they might be letting these instances back up till they've got enough rope to hang you with
Wish i had your problems..ive been getting 40+ hours every week for a year..if i ask for less, the world is ending. No problem for the full timer above me to cherry pick his 24-32 hour schedule every week.
