So I've decided to quit my god-awful job as a courtesy clerk. The managers at my place are terrible, and can not do anything right. Not to mention the fact that the way the managers expect us to work is more stress than I need in my life- I'm currently a Junior in HS thats involved in AP classes, Band, and Boy Scouts. My question is, is there a specific form for a 2 week notice? Or is it merely a formal note that alerts the managers to my intentions of quitting? Thanks for the help, Kroger sucks horse dick.
If you plan on working for another company that's under the same union then you need to get a union card so you don't have to pay the union initiation fees again. Otherwise, just leave them a note with the date of your last day of employment.

but anyways, let me be your parent and tell you how. yes you need to write a letter of resignation stating your intent to leave the company. in your instance, i would "shovel in some crap" that says stuff like "due to a very busy school activity schedule I am unable to continue working at Kroger at this time." Say something like "it was a pleasure to work here and I would like the possibility to be rehired when my schedule is less busy." Then add some more BS by saying "Thank you"

on the other hand, it's kroger, and it sounds like you're going on to bigger and better things, whatever happens at your part time high school job really won't matter 5 years from now. don't stress over it too much.

This is a waste of your time. You are a kid in school quitting a bottom of the totem pole job at Kroger. Just tell them you are quitting and don't waste your time writing a letter of resignation. I swear, some people on here think being a Kroger clerk is a position of importance warranting things like those letters.
A waste of time?? It would take like five minutes to write a letter. If you need need a little cash for a minute or too You can fall back to kroger. I've know people that have quit like five times and came back.
I just quit my job at Kroger last night. Couldn't take the stress. As a Part-Time employee they wanted 40+ hour weeks with no breaks. I work a day job as well and was failing at that due to physical exhaustion from the night role.
I quit this week. I have no plans of ever going back so i just quit worth no notice. Ive honestly never worked anywhere as bad as kroger sadly. I had such high hopes for them but it didn't work out. Between the stress that is put on the employees, both of my departments supervisors got off at the same time leaving us without a supervisor until we close then getting bitched out by them if something on there detail lacking notes didn't get done and scheduling conflicts i had enough. When i was hired i made it known immediately that i had another job and i was told repeatedly that they would work with my other schedule. Then when our marketplace opened i was told they would NOT be working with other schedules and we would have to put in what our availability was. I did that and they continued to schedule me passed the time i could be there. I then found out they denied my availability. Sorry but the job I've had for 2 years trumps kroger. I was having to give up days at my other job for kroger so i decided to just lane kroger because of their unfair treatment. If you are going to kroger for a second job i advise going somewhere else cuz kroger expects you to only have kroger but won't give you enough hours to survive on only kroger.

Why are you replying to a 5 year old post??
Uh, does it really make a difference when a post was started, and how late someone answers? These kinds of posts can go on for years and years (potentially decades?) because the same ole problems working here at Kroger go on and on and on and on...........nothing changes all that much. I can read a post from 2011 and see the same exact things going on today. And you read it, right? In any case, the latest replies to a thread show up at the top on your screen if you have your page threads sorted by "LAST MODIFIED" instead of by "START DATE". So, the old threads can continue to be relevant and helpful even up to the present.

Damn man! That is exactly what I am going through right now! Zero structure (that they claim to have) No leadership cause everyone leaves and us hard workers pick up the slack. This place broke me. I had high hopes too! I was excited as hell and now i am in bed completely depressed. I think I quit. Thanks for taking the time to write this. It solidifies my feelings. Everything you said is parallel to what i am dealing with right now.
BTW! I told them about my other job too and they use their online schedule to their advantage. Eventually bullying you into a position because I am one hell of a worker. I went there because I wanted a friendly environment and it was anything but. I've done some stressful jobs, but their productivity demands and lack of holding others accountable for who is doing what is jacking with my pride. I'm going back to the skilled jobs I had. I thought I would take a pay cut to mingle with the community, have fun, work hard, but have a team. I am kinda sad. Oh well.
Oh the nightmares. Sounds all too familiar no structure no training. Can't get full time so your insurance doesn't cover hardly anything. Won't miss it.
