yes what was said above is correct. so in essence you just got a pay raise a week or so back of a dime or two. you will need to work another 25 fourty hour weeks until you are entitled to the next pay raise based on your union contract to your particular job category. take a look at the pay scale in back of your union contract book.

Yeah.no it doesn't have any other info. This is crazy. Been with Kroger four yearsn Sept. And I'm already at top of pay scale? So there is no where to go now.

Aw, that can't be right...............I hope. Prob'ly need to talk with both HR and your union rep and get this straightened out.
Sadly it is right! If you're full time, most contracts top out around 6000 hours or so for each position. Then you hit the journeyman rate and thats it except for contracts that expire and get renegotiated, then that might go up a little bit. Department managers *never* get a raise, since you have a defined rate. Sure its a good bit higher than the highest clerk pay for your department (usually) but you never get any more!
The only place for you to go now is to move up to department head/assistant/etc , or try to go for store management or a job in the district/regional/etc. office!
Also sadly I'm moving back to Atlanta to be closer to my family (not sad but heres the sad part) Atlanta's a very closed grocery market! Only 4 chains - Kroger, Publix, Whole Foods, The Fresh Market. No jobs available at Whole Foods right now (at least in Seafood) so no chance to transfer unless I want to do something retarded, and possibly part time.
Hopefully Publix has some open positions otherwise I'll have to try to jump back on the Kroger ship! A job's a job!
Also to the OP, you'd want to check with HR about the job steps. I do think Step "0500" is the top-out step for each scale. As a Seafood Manager I was some made-up step of "0750" so they could generate a higher pay rate. Funny thing was the job title it was called - Sure I was the Seafood Manager but internally in the HR system I was the....Seafood Foreman. hahaha
What about if you're only part time? How many hours do you have to work for a pay raise?
Usually its the same scale hours-wise as full time, the pay rates are usually just a bit lower. And naturally it takes you longer to get there since you're working less!

I think steps are usually 500-1000 hours.
Yeah you can tell how much longer til your next raise by looking at your expresshr page. Each "credit" remaining is, I believe, equivalent to 1 40-hr work week.
i agree on union dues pay about $500.00 year receive .50cents a year that is also like playing the lotto. where does the remaining amount go? oh i figured that answer on my own it lines the pockets
Kroger is Shady Company. It Preaches about Feeding America to Make themselves look good on the expense to the ones they abused to give their Ceo's several million raise last year! The ones they abused, lost their self esteem & now are standing in lines at the food bank to feed their families. They are not necessarily standing in line at the Kroger Food Pantry to get the food, it may be Lutheran Social Services, where Giant Eagle,Aldi donates their food, mostly unadvertised (humble companies)...or tons of other foodbanks, which doesnt advertise to get a profit for adertisement for their good deeds, like Kroger does ,which writes off donations on taxes, scamming government!!Stay away from Kroger!Worked there about 20 years, and I will give you advise: don't get brainwashed by their fake values.Their standard is too high for the pay the are willing to give.Consider Kroger's job only for seasonal job, it will make your life easier in a long run!
