I am a dept head that has decided to step down. I had to go on STD for 11 days. i got $109 minus insurance and taxes, I got a paycheck minus insurance and taxes, and a FMLA minus insurance and taxes. So.. I have had 3 insurances taken out of my check. I checked the insurance and because of my LOA I am not insured. I was forced to take my vacation pay in order to keep my insurance, but yet now I have none. Also I have worked straight 19 days 10 hr days as there are only 2 people in my meat dept. they have told me that I have to work indefinitly till they get someone hired. My direct DM asked me to sign a "step down" form but still do the duties of the MGR of the dept.. REALLY, do they think I am stupid. I will not step down till the new MGR takes over or... My DM can come to my store and do my 2 hrs worth of paperwork a day and I will just be a lumper.. customer first my ASS! it is all about the paperwork. I had not had a day off in 11 when my DM showed up and told me that I had to work for at least 2 hrs in the dept since i did not do a pre-order. I was in FLIP FLOPS.. Should have called OSHA that moment! Then told me that I have 2 weeks to get that department in order (you see I had a sababoor in my midst ya know, changing BOH's, Min's, and ordering minimal for 6 months) or I know what would happen. THREATENED me with termination. dont back baby in a corner...... I call you bluff and sent a letter of resignation. Kroger does NOT give a **** about their employees, just how much money have you made for my company, and you are causing me to have a lower bonus!!!!. On that note, lets talk about bonus' and ELMS.. OK.. I have now, 2 employees in my dept and my elms are 133.3... but.. we cannot have overtime.. it is a lose lose situation.. THIS COMPANY SETS YOU UP FOR FAILURE....
