Your opinions on dating a coworker?

Generally, it is a bad policy to date a coworker at any job.

I do find some coworkers attractive and will let the friendship progress however it does.  A definite no-no for a store manager to date a hourly employee in any business.  Several people in my store have met their mates working for Kroger.

If the relationship goes bad, the break-up is nasty, then the work drama will be unbearable.  Especially, if the ex is a crazy fool.  One or both persons will lose jobs eventually.  Think flat tires, broken windshield, keyed paint, domestic violence with weapons!

The above is for close intimate relationships.

If you want to hang out with someone for bowling, lunch or a movie with no intimate expectations, then that would be ok except for with a salaried manager.  I hang out with a coworker and we have a decent time.

I've hung out after work with a couple co-workers.  Don't think it would have worked if it had been anything more, but be prepared for those who try to start rumors stating more is going on than what really is.

If 2 checkers or employees on the same job classification date, more power to them. However if a manager dates someone lower than them problems can and will arise. Even more so if they keep the relationship secret. I think if management is found dating a "low level" employee, they must either 1) transfer to a new store, or 2) voluntarily resign. If management don't want to do either of those things then they can be forced to resign. Again, this is speculation.

I may be the wrong person to ask, but I dated a co-worker and we're now married.  This was before working at Kroger.

Sometimes it works out.  I would advise you get a good handle on what the other person is really about before asking them out, though.

I heard Bill Gates' wife describe how she met him on a radio show.  She was a guest on NPR on one of the game shows and described it.

She was a secretary for Bill Gates before Microsoft took off.  He asked her out.  Her reply was she wasn't sure.  She asked her mother if she should and the mother suggested not to.  She went anyway and the rest is history.  Her version was funnier tho.

Don't do it. I dated a girl for four months who was a fellow CC and the period after I broke up with her because she was off the rails crazy and unstable and sometimes caused me to lose work was incredibly awkward. The coworkers who don't like one of you will complain to the other when they have issues w/ you and Its overall an uncomfortable experience esp. after its over.

Do NOT ever date a coworker.

It is the worse experience I have ever been through in a relationship. I am still with the guy, but it was **** the whole first year (when we were working together), and there still are some consequences. I was very unlucky also to be in a department where 30 single young women worked with one male as their director and he was hot. He liked me and asked me to date, I said yes, in my naïve head I didn't realize what I was getting into.
For the whole past year I had to endure all the women hitting on my boyfriend and him telling me we shouldn't tell anyone about our dating because it would look bad on him. I know, I have been stupid. There is nothing I regret more than having said yes to that date, please if you are thinking about it, there are two options: DON'T or Do, but one of you changes jobs right away. YOU DO NO **** WHERE YOU EAT.

I would never date a coworker. First, I work only with women from Europe and USA, while I like Thai women. That is why i would better check for datings at https://alltopbrides.com/thai-brides/ and maybe found someone to love the rest of my life. Work should be work, and private life doesn't touch it. Better to look for someone on a dating web sites.

Dating sites/apps are for single mothers and/or drama cases.
