I went in today and gave the assistant FES my two weeks' notice. Classes are about to start so I'd rather be studying than saying the same lines over and over.
It's been quite a year with Kroger, and there's been plenty of great and awesome people I'd love to work with, as well as idiots and asses who I'd rather see hanged on the gallows until dead.
My last day will be on the 16th of August. Just in time when 1/3 of the clerks and cashier leave to go back to high school.

May God have mercy upon their Quevision scores.
You wonderful bastard. I hope to one day join you in your triumph and victory. Save a spot for me at the bar you go to for celebration, wouldja?
All I need is one offer, heck even minimum wage, and I am out of Kroger forever. I don't even plan to shop there anymore after I'm gone. It'd be like returning to the site of a WWII battle where you saw your friends killed but somehow you were spared.

****kkkkkkk. I'm gonna miss you NW. You're my favorite commentator on all things Kroger. :( maybe you'll find a better job where initiative and loyalty is rewarded.

Ah, forgot to mention: I'm in a work-study program with a university-affiliated hospital. In a year I'd be working with them until I get my degree.
In the meanwhile, they're helping pay for my tuition in the form of grants. I appreciate the thoughts, too, mysterious Anon. ;)
FrontEndSlave, I'll be sure to save you a seat next to mine in front of the big screen with drinks on the house. Speaking of offers, be on the lookout for any competitive retailers that are opening stores nearby. They tend to accept the first handful of people to apply for positions. That is, if you'd still want to end up in retail. :P
You escaped? Don't leave us. DON'T LEAVE US! Just kidding. Go, flap your wings and fly into the glorious wilds, NW.
It's not like I'll book it from this place and leave y'all to suffer. I'll still be around to give produce codes out to those who need them. xD
In all seriousness, I'll be sticking around and offering advice to new people, that is until Kroger changes policies again ($40 says their policies will conflict each other).
But for now, just some R&R for me here. ;)

Got to experience a little bit of everything tonight: price checks, rude customers, nice customers, heavy rushes, cashier calling in (which happens to be the guy who's supposed to replace me starting next week), and all the other shennanigans.
I shook hands with so many people on my way out, it's like getting a presidential pardon out of death row in the spirit of the holidays. Though, the handshakes and the fist-bumps were well-deserved, as they were with people that I loved to work with and would've been more than happy to work with (the grumpier people were gone for the day xD).
Well, it has been a nice length of work. Got a decent amount of experience from both the back room and the front end.
Now I know how to abuse our "Scan Right" guarantee, where if it doesn't scan the way a shelf tag says it should, I get the item for free.
