what does Kroger look for in their employees??? My application was turned down and HR won't tell me or the PHARMACY MANAGER WHO TOLD ME TO APPLY why I was turned down. This is a terrible business plan because how can I possibly improve myself if I don't know what I did wrong to begin with??????? I would never have gone through that time consuming process if I knew Kroger was gonna turn me down even with the Manager's insisting I apply.
You're never going to find out why you were turned down. No one will tell you, at any job, in any industry, unless required by law. That's the hopelessness many job seekers are feeling these days.

"Have you ever been terminated from a job and when?" and a yes would probably do it, regardless of the reason.
The personality test.
Your relevance to the department you're trying for.
Previously terminated from Kroger.
Previously quit Kroger without proper notice.
Patterns of job abandonment/job hopping.
Previously caught stealing.
Any criminal background check or drug test turning something up.
Like Pizza said, there's a lot of red flags Kroger looks for in applications. There's even underlying reasons why they may not hire you including your credit score (too low of a credit score could mean you may be tempted to steal), your address (if you live too far away they might think you'll be harder to schedule), your availability (I shouldn't even have to say anything here), and if you have any family members working in the store is another red flag. If you are a pharm. tech I would definitely suggest working in a hospital if you can. If not, then try Walgreens or CVS. Pharmacies in big box stores usually don't want to pay their techs as much as Walgreens. Hospitals are where the money's at for that though.

Exactly, no company will tell you why these days... It's too bad, the feedback could give the applicant something to work on, but that's the way it is these days.
I am taking classes in pharmacy tech. I've done my research among all the Kroger chains and among pharmacies in general and I know for a fact that I have so many days (different per state) to get my certification once I'm hired and a certification isn't required to be hired in 90% of the places I've looked at. I really can't think of much to turn me down for that's my fault though. I mean, because I'm young (just turned 21) I don't have years of experience under my belt which SUCKS because It wasn't even legal for me to get a job until I was 16, I was in high school then. And I still would only have about 4 years of experience at non-relevant jobs. The job market makes it almost impossible to make any sort of living wage if you don't start slaving away at the first hint f being job eligible. and it's pretty hard to build up credit when I'd rather use my debit card than a credit card.
Working at 16... Well you could have had half a decade of experience now in at least SOME job. And working at Kroger would've been a great place to start.
What did you put on your app? I see a lot of people list 18 jobs in a year. Not friendly during interview, not dressed nice. Their availability. Kroger only wants people that can work nights, weekends and holidays. And I think this pertains just to my store because the manager said no ugly people that we already had enough. But she's a bitch.
Hello my son apply for kroger they red flagged him because he was driving under license suspension but I just don't understand why it's not like he ask to drive the company car are anything he just wanted to work inside store
They may have been worried you might be an agent sent by law enforcement or a law firm. Or able to defend yourself against them in some way. Now they get to share/sell your information to whoever would like to exploit you. Still, you are lucky. Not having this company in your resume makes you look more legitimate going forward.
