ELMS & Ring Tender

Does anyone know the formula for calculating the effective percentage. For example could you give me a formula that would calculate my effective percentage using the numbers I get from doing no sale 96 sign on. And when it comes to IPM and tender time which is more important. What ipm and tender time would I need to be over 95%.

Tender time needs to be .50 or less and ipm needs to be 25 or higher

In general, it doesn't matter and who really cares. Sure you might get flak for being less than whatever. But you won't lose your job over it. You won't get paid more for being more productive or less for less. So. Who knows and who cares. Just be sober and of average intelligence and show up on time.

Employees with that attitude make it harder on everyone!  If you don't like your job, go to McDonalds or anywhere else!

Well, I don't get it either. Last time I was in my IPM was 17, tender time 0.39, and I had a ring/tender % of 135% that week. Sooo.... yeah. My IPM seems awful slow for a ring tender that high, but what do I know!

My managers compliment me on my speed but it's not like... super important as far as I can tell. I just like to be good at what I do.

Your ELMS score is nothing without a good bagger at the end of your register.
The quicker items are cleared away the more space there is left for incoming items.

IPM & tender time aren't the only factors.  You might've been on express also.  Keep in mind every thing you do on a lane has a time attached.  Keying in a barcode, using the hand scanner, checking id, running a check, having 10 seconds to say you have a recall notice, a survey that gets me 50 fuel points, you saved 3 cents, have 2 useless coupons and we love our jobs err customers so please come back & start on the next order.

I don't work on front-end, but the ELMS scores are always posted the break room, every week, with some super-douchey remarks written at the top. Ex., "What happened? Why are we going in the opposite direction this week? Why are we in the 80's again? We must get better and strive for 100", etc. I haven't seen anyone get written up or lose their job over their ELMS score, but I have seen hours cut for people with low scores.

I don't think he's saying slack off or don't work.  It's just why push yourself and wear yourself out trying to achieve some unobtainable goal?  Our store wants our ring tender at 95% or better.  Well that's going to happen if you have a floor supervisor with an override, enough cashiers and courtesy clerks working.

If you have to cashier like I do, by myself, running the floor, cashier, and bagging all my orders plus handling customer complaints then sorry, it's not going to happen.  And I'm not going to bust my ass to do the job of three people for my pay.  And there is nothing Kroger can do about that.  That's my attitude!!

You cant figure your ring/tender score directly from the numbers you get off that sheet. It doesnt work that way.
