Just curious the size of the stores where people work! My store was recently remodeled - it about doubled in size. Its friggin huge, the biggest one in the state that isn't a marketplace. 10 cash registers and 12 uscan registers. over 40 aisles. Drive thru pharmacy, giant starbucks area, huge deli/bakery, cheese island, just so much going on!
I went to a kroger in a nearby city that is so small, I think my store's deli and bakery area is bigger than the entire store. it's really tiny, only 4 cash registers and 4 uscan
Just thought it was interesting that they're the same company but so drastically different, and only about 10 miles apart
Mine has 6 self scan, 7 registers, 20 aisles.... plus fuel center, drive up pharmacy, sushi bar..... In away wish we had starbucks but on the other hand glad we don't I would be broke as fast they payed us...
Nineteen registers all together. Six of which are self-scan, five are express registers and remaining eight are full service registers. Thirty nine aisles, cheese shop, Starbucks and extensive wine selection. It's a store that does a million or better a week. Not even three years old yet, but due to the large volume of business, an expansion is already in the works.
My store isn't a marketplace, it's considered to be a mainstream store. We have 24 (i think) aisles plus a couple mini pharmacy aisles. We have a drive thru pharmacy, a cheese shop island thing, 6 u scan's, 8 registers, and a pretty nice size wine and beer section. My store does usually 80k-100k sales a day.

We have 12 regular registers and 12 u-scan registers and also a huge deli and bakery area that includes a sushi bar. Last week the bakery did over 25K in sales. We don't have a Starbucks because there's already one in the same shopping area. Our aisles are numbered up to 32 but I don't think that includes the aisles in front of pharmacy. We also have a large section called, "Kitchen Place" which is pots, pans, and other kitchen appliances. The floral shop has huge indoor patio. The main vestibule is as big as a small grocery store. We're getting a liquor store this spring. Total square footage is over 109,000.
Is that 12 aisles including nutrition, frozen and drug gm?
That reminds me i forgot our nutrition aisles and salad bar.
Frozen and drug GM yes, nutrition no as they are not full aisles. 2 16 foot sections angled off in produce department.
My local store has two full aisles of Nutrition. And yes, the whole aisle, left/right, up/down are stocked with nutrition items. It doesn't share it with another section. Where they got a hold of that stuff, I don't know, but hey, it sells.
I'd actually really like to see pictures of all of the stores that people work in. I'll take some when I get to work tonight.
Make sure you Photoshop out any identifying marks. I sure as hell wouldn't want my store known. And I don't think I am alone in that thought either. Sure there are plenty here who come here to get away from the stupidity that is this company for a free-for-all whine-fest slash ranting slash relaxing slash fun reads.

You've got to be a really big, crazy, borderline psychotic Kroger fanatic to be able to see "identifying marks" that's unique to a specific store (let alone, a general area in the US).
Just like how I can take a picture of the meat department's sign. The most you'd be able to tell about it is if the store's old/new/remodeled. It takes a keen eye from a Kroger cult member to notice the crack on the upper right dorsal side of the sign and connect it to the meat department in store #666 in District S, Division Q, San Fransisco, CA, USA
Oh yea, I don't blurt out what store I'm in either - although if you do your research you can figure it out. SayWhat has, but then again I know where she works too. :P
I understand not wanting to be identified, but I think it'd be cool to have some forum people visit from time to time. Though I highly highly doubt anyone lives in the area that's active on here.

I know at least two people here that are in the same division and district as I am. As for anything more specific, I'd rather not ask since there really isn't a point in knowing... unless you wanna make fun of the stores in areas with a lower median income than yours.
yeah we also have a sushi bar, kitchen place, and big pharmacy with aisles. i think the # of aisles might be misleading though, I just realized, because in my store the front aisles are odd numbers and the back are even numbers. kinda weird. Also, we don't have a set area for nutrition anymore - organic/natures market has been integrated in the regular aisles, so there are just random 4 or 8 foot sections of nutrition in each aisle, including frozen and dairy. kinda sucks but employees and customers are slowly getting used to it (i think).
I can see it being positive to integrate the items because it'll 1) open up more customers to buying organic things if they see it in the regular aisles and 2) "natural food" shoppers might see some new stuff they want.. but I also def. see why it's a pain because people are used to going to the organic section and easily buying what they want, so sales might go down if people don't wanna search for the stuff. I think overall, since ALL the other stores seem to have separate departments, it should've stayed that way. But whatever, what's my opinion? lol
