So there is a guarantee in the deli that says if there is no 8 piece fried chicken or rotisserie chicken between 11am and 7pm, you get it free, two days ago I went to get a rotisserie chicken, and got a coupon. Today I went to redeem the coupon and they were out again, so I went to get another coupon. First they tried to tell me they had no idea what I was talking about, and then told me associates are not allowed that guarantee, as well as certain sales in the store. In fact, at one point we did not have our associate discounts because of customers complaining about it being unfair. I'm just so tired of being screwed for working there.
Another issue or store has, in the bakery in which I work, we have two people with 12+ points, and they were never given a verbal/written warning or a suspension. Now with that they cannot fire them because they weren't given warnings. I'm just so frustrated and needed to vent.
Also, anon, that's why most of us here DO NOT shop at the same store that we work in. You co-workers will never see you as a customer. That's why I shopped at a different Kroger than my store (and I still got my employee discounts) to get the other guarantees that normal customers get.
I bought ground beef one day on sale for I think $3.49. When I got home and checked my receipt I was charged $4.99. I went to work the next day and took a picture of the sale sign and took it with my receipt to customer service. They told me no, they wouldn't refund the difference to me on meat. I said I was charged wrong and they said no, no refund on meat. I bet if I was a customer I would have had a refund. Kroger doesn't care about it's employees.

You were a customer. I don't see why the fact it was meat would have anything to do with whether you received a refund or not. You were overcharged. Would they still deny you a refund if the price was $3.99 and they charged you $39.99?

Whoever told you that was misinformed. Try talking to your customer service manager about it. The only refunds we cannot give are on beer, cigarettes, or baby food/formula.
We can give refunds on baby food and formula, as long as there's still a large amount of substance left inside the item (meaning, we'll decline if a good fourth or half of it is gone).

Why not just go into another kroger (if one is near you) and use the coupon discount there. That's what I do all the time. If customers get the discounts, so should we

We treat baby food just like any other item being returned. However, with baby formula, we don't do any returns or exchanges unless they have a receipt showing it wasn't a WIC purchase. That's just state WIC regulations.

This varies by store manager. I've had managers say no way on anything baby returned. I've had others only require a receipt to show it wasn't a WIC purchase. We'll do exchanges sometimes.
As for the meat price issue, the were probably confused. The scan rite guarantee doesn't apply to employees do you don't get it free but you could get the price difference.
There's a bright line. Employees must have receipts, customers can get store credit. the scan guarantee doesn't apply to employees
