New co-manager!

Well found out today we've got a new co-manager. I asked who was leaving just to find out no one.  Kroger out of the goodness of their hearts, (Yes that's sarcasm) decided to give us another co-manager.  Now we have 3 co-managers and one main manager.  When I started we had only 1 of each.

I find it funny that they say we don't have the sales to hire anymore help or give us decent hours but they can bring in a third co-manager.  WTF?!

Is your store small? My store has always has 3 co's and a store manager and it's not exactly a huge store.

It's a big store but they said we don't have the sales for more hours or to hire enough help.  So why bring in another manager.

You think that is funny, once I was assisting a police department in buying Christmas toys for children.
This was at a Wal-Mart.
Well, guess what?
The co-managers were there to make sure everything was nice and legal, all okay.
....There were six of them.
Seriously.
Sometimes I don't mind working for Kroger because I think about how phucked up some other locations are for their employees.
We at least have a union.
Wal-Mart would tie you to a tire in their automotive department and roll you downhill into thorns and branches if you even mentioned the word "union".

Its "interesting" to see choices kroger makes and how some of them dont make any sense. At my store we have had several quit and new ones come in plus i cant keep track of how many times other people are brought in to help in the store.

We have 4 co-managers.  I found out yesterday our current store manager is being transferred at the end of this month.

What exactly does a co-manager do overnight?   Unless your store is a 24 hour store..

Have you always had just two co-managers or is this the first time for 3?

I don't know exactly what he does.. Because we are not a 24 hour store.... I am guessing he tells night crew what to do since we have only 1 person on nights that has been there longer than a year..... Other than that our night crew is 6 months  or newer employees

The night grocery lead is probably that single senior person. As for the grocery manager, ours works days without exception, so...

Interesting, seems like a weird dynamic to have him working days.   You'd think more would get done at night.

My store's grocery manager works days too, she just has a night lead for the 3rd shift crew.
