Still not my store. Wouldn't surprise me if it happened at mine, though. ...If it did, at least it would mean we wouldn't have to go get carts for a little while. Management would wait for the crime scene tape to come down. Or at least the bloodstains to be cleaned. As if there aren't enough of them already in our meat department!
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - One man was shot outside the Kroger on Moreland Avenue in DeKalb County. Police say a man had pulled into the parking lot just before 8 p.m. Wednesday when two men approached him and demanded his car keys. Police say the man complied, handed over his keys and started to walk away, but police say the two men shot him anyway, then took off in his car.
Shoppers inside Kroger say they heard 4 or 5 shots. Belinda Billingslea says we just started ducking because we didn't know if they were shooting in the store or where the shots were coming from.
John Rader was inside the store. He says People were running down the aisles. I thought there might be a shooter inside the store and I froze for a bit. He then went to check it out and saw more than a dozen police officers in the parking lot, as well as paramedics tending to a man on the pavement.
Police say the man was shot twice in the abdomen but was talking on the way to the hospital. Police are now looking for the man's Camaro. They're hoping store surveillance video will give them some clear images of the carjackers.
