I submitted a request 3 weeks ago to change my availability for college and the thing was pending this entire time. Just got my schedule and I am scheduled to work one of the days I can't. Management was acting like all I had to do was submit a request into e-schedule, but they never even checked it. I now have to find some to trade or cover my shift AND have a talk to management about getting my availability changed. This is the second time something like this has happened since I started about month ago.
it's the schedule writer. they forget i think sometimes since they have to deal with a lot of people. i would leave a note on their desk or talk to him/her in person about it. all e schedule can do is say yo this person asked to change their availability. the schedule writer has to approve it
I absolutely hate having the e-schedule. Days off and availability changes are always pending. I hate not having a consistent schedule. I have always had consistent schedules even in fast food. At Kroger I go from 27 to 20 to 17 to 28 hours and I can't stand it.
the crazy-assed, schizophrenic schedule is one of the many reasons I have become fed up with Kroger.
While it would be nice to be able to have days where, if I wanted to go to say zoo atlanta, or just sleep in all day, or whatever my plans, I would accept a so-called "9 to 5" job almost immediately. For one thing a job like that would certainly pay more than Kroger. And the stability of the hours would make it easier to plan around my personal life, even if it meant sleeping in or trips to wherever taking place on Saturday.
Well, I just learned that apparently you can only change your availability two times a year after my schedule got messed up and I had to get it fixed.
Seriously though, I agree with the e-schedule being dumb as hell. My previous job we knew our schedule for the whole month and could make changes when we needed to. My friend who works at another grocery story says she gets her schedule for the following two weeks. It's impossible to plan anything unless you get the day off two weeks ahead of time or try to have an availability where you personally give yourself days off... It really sucks planning anything for the weekend! You can plan Saturday but you're screwed on Sunday until the schedule comes in on Friday. Then if you actually have that Sunday off it's a lost cause planning anything with anybody because they are usually already busy -.-... At least that's how it's been for me XD.
That's nice! I plan on transferring to another Kroger nearby and I'm going to see if it's the same thing there. I really hope not because two times a year is BS.
