If you want to quit, and are actually going to, give your 2 weeks notice. Don't just leave in the middle of a shift. Try to leave on good terms. Afterwards, after you let them know you're not interested in staying, ask them what all they'll need back from you once you do leave.
tell your manager you don't like your job and you're putting in your two weeks. Or if you don't like your managers just don't show and dont answer the phone. That's what I did. Worked out great, got a better paying job the exact same day. that day was today lol screw kroger they treat employees like crap. cant find out when my next shift is for the next workweek until Saturday evening.
Yes just tell him over the phone. I didn't even talk to the manager just told the courtesy clerk to relay my message. They probably do not want the used shirt or name tag back(unless it is a common name). They might take an unused shirt back if it is still in the package.
Call the store manager or person that hired you and let them know you are unable to work there any more. If you mention that your school schedule conflicts, they might try to get you to stay or they might understand better why you quit or they might not care either way. Ask them if they want the name tag and shirt back. Low paying retail jobs are a dime a dozen. I seriously doubt this will keep you from obtaining another job in the future.
You don't need to give a two week notice unless you plan on working for Kroger again. If you are certain you do not want the job, just call the store manager or co manager and say the job isn't working out and you are quitting. You are unable to work anymore shifts.

I mean I told the lady at the service desk who answered the phone to relay my message and not call back. Don't be rude, just be polite and make sure they don't call back and wish them a good day. Dont turn in your shirt or badge or anything Don't worry about it they don't want it back.
It really depends on what you want to do, you could either put in your two weeks if you want to leave on a good note and make sure HR has time to dfind someone to replace you or if you dont give a flying fudgesicle you could just stop showing up. What position did you work in anyway?
Honestly, your best bet is to just be up front with your manager. Go talk to him in person and just let him know you're not really feeling the job and that you're going to put in your two weeks. Not only does it look better for future job hunts, but if you ever decide to return and work there in a different department, you'll have left on good terms and they may hire you back.
There are some people who just don't show up, or who put in their two weeks and then slack off and do ****ty work the rest of the time. What's that tell future employers about you if they ask around? You want future employers to know that you're not going to screw them over once you get tired of the job.
Anytime you're doing something involving jobs, you always want to keep on good terms with your employer unless it's just not possible. So give them the two weeks so they have time to find someone else, and put in 100% effort as if you weren't quitting. Show them that you'll still do the job until you leave so that you stay on good terms.

"I, _____, am quitting my position at Kroger and I'm giving my 2 weeks notice. My last day of employment will be _____ (2 weeks from the date). Thank you. --Your name."

I just gave mine to the goodwill. I knew I was going to quit that night I always walked out with 3 pizzas some candy couple 2 liters and some popcorn. Had a movie night on Kroger. Thanks
