vacation and personal time ?

Generally, you lose them if you don't use by the end of the fiscal year. They'll still pay you for any time you have left, but you lose the time off.

in my contract you lose the vacation time and they will NOT pay it out. but they have to pay out personal days.

The person you need to ask is your union steward. A lot of employees do not know the contract and may tell you something different.

Thanks for the answers! I'm trying to request my remaining time for what I think is not going to be too busy for the store, but we have a new FEM who likes to watch you squirm when he denies your request. One bagger had to quit over it. I don't care but as the year runs out I don't want to lose it . Oh and our steward is useless BTW.

We had a FEM who kept denying my vacation. So I put kept putting in a request week after week until finally I complained long and loud about it. You know why I wasn't able to take it? Because the FEM said he didn't now how to do it. That's what he said. Dumb a$$.
