We get a mystery shop last Sunday. We were all informed of our manager being killed and his son being critically injured 2 days before. There's a beautiful memorial of our manager right when you walk in the door. We failed miserably. Everyone was still in shock. I understand business must go on, but how heartless was it for a mystery shopper to see the memorial and expect the entire store to be all smiles and such. That was just ridiculous
Maybe IF corporate has a heart they'll make the shop be invalid. How they can expect anyone to be all smiles as you said, is beyond me. If I had been that shopper, I'd have just written mostly yes and given at least a 7 or 8.
Falsification f said documents? Yep... But as mentioned, how can they expect one to be al happy 2 days after a tragedy struck?
Kroger doesn't give a **** about any of its employees, even if they died. This mystery shop you had pretty much shows it. I have always been so ashamed working at Kroger, but I need to make money somehow. The things Kroger has done has really made me want to keep going for my engineering degree and get really good grades because I plan on leaving Kroger forever as soon as I can get my first engineering job.
I hope the guy who hit him goes to prison for a long time. It sounds like your manager was one of the good ones and him and his little boy deserved much better.

Nowadays states will most likely give the guy a 25-year sentence with a chance for parole after 6 years. *eyeroll*
You get a "get out of jail" card if you happen to be a rich kid on the grounds that your parents shoved your silver spoon so much down your hole that you forgot how to be responsible (like what happened in my state).
I don't understand the "mystery shopper" gimmick. How can one customer experience describe the whole store's attitude/performance? Especially given your store's tragedy, and so long as your store rakes in the green, why would corporate give a crap?
