Kroger Music Help
Permalink

Hello everyone. I've been a Kroger employee for about 2 years so I've heard a lot of the same songs over and over again. Some of them I've come to like, however, there are some I can't seem to find even if I put the lyrics in on Youtube or Google.

The first song lyrics started out like (Male Vocals): "I miss you, baby"
And the chorus went for the first song: "I'm searching for the key to time. Time to set you free. I'm waiting for the day to let you fly away. (Or sometimes: "I'm waiting for the day I'm done and walk away.")

The second song I haven't heard in a while, but it started out with a male voice saying: "Taking my time." And would later say: "Taking my time, don't know if it's the right thing to do."

In the chorus, the only words I can remember is: "I'm going out of my mind, just give me a sign."

Thanks in advance, it's been driving me crazy that I can't find these two songs. Probably by no-name artists?

Have you tried Shazaming them? If that doesn't work (or you're unable to), take note of the exact date and time they play, and send an e-mail with that information and your store number to the folks over at InStore Audio.

Edit: Actually, the 2nd song is Give Me a Sign by John Bartus.

Wow! I didn't know that existed! Thank you so much. I'll keep looking for the first song.

I like my store because it plays Yellowcard, "When September Ends" by Green Day, "Into the Night" by Benny Mardones, and lots of Prince.

Not looking forward to Christmas, though I do enjoy "White Christmas" and "Jingle Bell Rock." I'm so sick of Pharell's "Happy". We used to play MJ's "Man in the Mirror" every two hours; much prefer it over "Happy."

I know that music plays in the store, but I have a super hard time hearing a majority of it.  Maybe it's because I often work during some of the busier hours?  Or maybe my hearing is crappy?  :/

I normally filter out the music and don't hear it very often since it's just a distraction and I'm busy working, haha.

You're not the only one. I think someone turned down the volume down on out intercoms because i xant hear it anymore. Also i remember when our power went out, we didn't have any music playing for 2 weeks.

It's funny that absoultely no one does the engagement time during that song anymore. The managers don't even say anything about it anymore. It's another one of Kroger's failed programs!

What do you mean by engagement time? Are cashiers supposed to engage more during that song's duration? I thought we were supposed to engage all the time? But after 7 hours on a Sunday, I'm like GTFO already and fried.

I just need them to quit playing "Rock and Roll Waltz" so much in the morning. I understand it's the manager's favorite, but not 3 times in an hour.
