Contract vote for UFCW 1059

Can't wait to see how we get screwed over this time. I like how we have received basically no information on this contract negotiation like we did in the past. Going to make sure to go Monday and vote.

Our union negotiated a new contract a year ago and the starting wage for anyone is still minimum wage. The wage section was hardly even touched. Thank you union for fighting for "better wages."

We're getting screwed and so is Kroger. Columbus, Ohio is experiencing the worst when it comes hiring and wages.

They extended our contract until August 22nd because they hadn't agreed on the insurance part. I guess they just decided on wages. I am interested to see Monday what they did about raises. I have no problem letting my displeasure being known to them. I hope they didn't negotiate another $600 bonus, those are useless to me since they are less than a weeks paycheck after they tax the hell  out of it.

The Columbus area is turning into a joke. The union doesn't give a damn anymore and it shows. I really can't wait to find something else. I think 17 1/2 years with this company is enough for me.

They keep claiming that but only the top rate changes.  The sad part is the legal minimum wage might change before the contract addresses any other wage rates at least here in ATL division and the worthless Local 1996.

Out of 11,000 employees in local 1059 only 2000 voted; WTF, This contract passed because the Union made it pass.

As much as I don't want to think that Kroger and the union is in it together, It makes me think that.

You have these voting places far out and not every employee drives. You only have it for one day from 7am-7pm and not enough time the employee to read over the contract. They say unions are to help the people but damn.

What was the vote % differential?   Ours just passed 2 weeks ago at a 93% approval.  Not sure how many voters.

I am curious to know why there was such a low turn out. Can you share any details of the contract.
