When Do You Get To Be A Customer?

I was unloading my cart and told the cashier I needed cigs.  He told me to go get them and just stood there.  I kept unloading my cart and he called down to register 2 and asked the cashier down there to bring him the cigs.  I finally walked down there to get them myself and that cashier said they were out.  I told her get them from a carton.  She said some lady bought them all.  I told her look right over there, get that carton, open it up and give me three packs.  She wouldn't even look for them.  So of course my cashier came down there to get them because they won't let customers have them.  Why in the heck did he make me go down there when he had to do it anyway?

So I get back to the register I was on and he has scanned my groceries but they are just sitting at the end of the belt.  I knew he was waiting for me to get back so I could bag them.  I just slowly looked at my receipt and looked through my coupons and waited him out lol!  He finally started bagging the groceries.

He works in the dairy department and when he gets in trouble back there they put him on the register as a punishment.  I guess he was mad and wasn't going to work.  I wouldn't have minded bagging or getting cigs if he was busy or if he would have just asked nicely.  It was his attitude that he wasn't going to do anything that made me mad.

Oh well, another unsatisfied customer.  I  used to work for Kroger but the thing is, I don't work there anymore, I don't want to do his job so he can stand around.

Why on Earth is a store using registers as a punishment? They've got write-ups if someone refuses to do their job, that's preferable to sabotaging another department because your own employee is an ass.

If I were in your place, I'd fill out the OSAT survey next time, tell 'em what you told us (minus the fact you worked for Kroger), plus name names. Then maybe next time he acts up, he'll get lot duty instead of the register.

They've always used the front end as a punishment for some reason.  It seems he is in trouble a lot, they make him stay up front for a week or two.  I would complain on the survey but I didn't get one and I do like this man, I just didn't appreciate the way he treated me.  Take your bad day out on someone else!  Plus he put my dang bread in with milk and detergent and soap.  No.  I don't care if you do work in dairy, use some common sense.

Idk, but the produce people always get cranky when I get produce and mess up their display. Well, sorry?  Didn't know it was display only.

You are a customer ANY time you are off the clock. Like mentioned, do an OSAT survey. Just be sure to use a fake name, fake number, and a friend's email. Hey, it could have been a "customer" that overheard.

Well you should just go get it out of the back room from now on lol!  Or ask one of the produce guys "would you mind getting me that apple please"  No, not that one, the other one.  No, to the right, above that one, yes that's the one!" " Wait, I'm not done.  I need two small lemons. I'd like the largest ones please, they're 59 cents apiece!  (Gripe about price now for a minute)  I don't want one that's too firm, just medium firm.  No, that ones too squishy (gripe about price again)".
