I've been with kroger for 4 years and need to relocate to North Carolina to care for my grandmother. I have heard several different things about when harris teeter will accept kroger transfers such as after 18 months (which it has been since the merger) or at the beginning of 2016. I have contacted many people from both companies and cannot get a straight answer. I just want to know if and when we can transfer.. any information is appreciated!
I have actually asked about this. They do not have the proper implementations in place yet to accept direct transfers from Kroger/other companies. However there are still Kroger stores in NC so you could possibly transfer to one of them. Worst case scenario, you could look at a position at Harris Teeter, but you'd need to start out as a new hire. You should probably talk to your associate relations manager at your current store for more help on getting that ball rolling.
Thank you for your answer! I know if I did transfer seniority and benefits wouldn't follow regardless, but it would be a lot less stressful to still have a job especially starting over in a new state. As well as having continued income verification for apartments. I just wish they had an answer for us.
if I was To transfer to Harris Teeter from Kroger now, would it work for the distribution centers?
Well, Krogerbought Harris Teeter for $2.4 billion in cash. The company became a subsidiary of Kroger and continued to operate under the Harris Teeter brand. I have heard several different things about when harris teeter will accept Kroger transfers such as after 18 months and more about them. You would enjoy working as HT uses myhtspace login portal.
If it is part of the union just request them to transfer you to them. If it fails, you can move quit apply when you get there. You have 2 yrs to retain your union seniority. If it is not then it's just like any other job: you quit when you move and find a new one when you get there. You're not a slave leave any time.
