Manager issues

So I've been working at Kroger for a while and I have this one manager Who I really just don't like. Just the other other day she lightly slapped me in the back of the head a couple of times like I was her ghetto son when I did nothing and always criticizes me. She said a customer complained about me telling them "Have a great day" and said it wasn't good enough. She also said to a customer in reference to me that "they don't have to have to pay bills, I'm sorry" and stuff like that. She always complains about my speed on the register when I'm going as fast as everyone else, she expects me to be like her and literally throw items to the side after scanning them. I try to be careful when scanning items and lightly place them in bags so I do not damage them and get into more trouble from her. It is like she doesn't like me and singles me out to give the worst treatment so I just get fed up and quit. Anyways she always looks pissed and irritated when I ask for her to do a override because I try to give the customer what they want before throwing the book at them. I was also instructed to do this by the other managers. When she isn't present everything is smooth, calm and cool and the day goes by so much better. There are no escalating incidents of misconduct and I'm pretty happy with everything else. So what do I do?

You tell her "DON"T YOU EVER PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME AGAIN!"  Also if she wants to talk about your job performance, tell her you will speak with her in the office away from customers and other employees with your union rep present!

I personally would call the corporate office and report her for her slapping you on the head.  I did that with one of my floor supervisors and they didn't fire her but they demoted her lol!  Corporate will fix it.

Yeah she crossed the line with the slapping of the head and I was just so infuriated and embarrassed when it happened. I was thinking to myself, "What the hell do you think I am? A piece of trash you can just play with? I don't see you doing anything like that with other employees, it wasn't with my permission and you must think I am worthless to be so damn disrespectful towards me instead of everyone else!"

Say "Do NOT touch me again. If you do, I WILL contact my union rep and corporate." Say this firmly but politely. If she says she was just "joking" say "I'm NOT. I happen to be VERY SERIOUS."

Also, what kind of manager tells customers "they don't pay bills" does she live with you??

She should NOT talk about work performance in front of customers or other employees for
ANY reason unless it's COMPLIMENTARY.

Yeah. It would be not advised to slap me in the back of the head or any part of my head. It will send me into a raging berserk i can't take control

I'm kind of disappointed with the unprofessionalism I've experienced here at Kroger. I had another employee(he wears the red vest) who was much younger also act out of line and put his hand in my face real quick to annoy me. He also would karate chop my shoulder, poke my side, and just be immature with me like a kid.

There are so many "workers rights" lawyers in my town that you wouldn't even be able to walk back to your car without being asked by a dozen people "How much are you seeking in punitive damages?"

Tell them to never touch you again and threaten to report them to HR if they touch you again.

You know you could have that manager arrested for assault. But use the union and HR as your first resort, and if the union and HR won't do diddly squat, then get an attorney or file a police report.

I would warn her first.  Second time I would whip out my cell phone and call 911.  Let the cops talk to her.  Tell the cops you warned her and she did it again.  And yes, you want to press charges!!!!  If you have to write down a customers or employees name and number for witnesses.

If she did that to me a second time I think I would go all drama on her.  Scream, ow that hurt!  Quit hitting me.  Leave me alone.  I'm calling the cops.  Then run outside or something.

Make sure you tell them not to erase the security tapes!  Get that on record so when they do you can use that against them too!  I wish I worked at your store.  I'd fight with for ya!!!!
